We loved our stay at Wikiup! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They responded to our request immediately when the AC stopped working and got it fixed right away. We stayed in the “shady lady” room and loved waking up to the birds in the trees. The llamas and goats were a bit aggressive when feeding them but nonetheless it was a cool experience you don’t often get at a hotel. Bed was comfy and the clawfoot bathtub was perfect for a nice soak. There’s also a fire warmed hot tub right outside the door and that was also an interesting experience getting it to the right temperature but overall still very enjoyable. We would definitely come back again!

This is the cutest place I've ever visited! the staff is friendly, accommodating, and just genuinely nice. I visited with my boyfriend, who proposed on the patio, with rose petals that were provided in a cute bucket next to the entrance. My fiance and i spent most of our trip here bc it was just so incredibly beautiful with goats and llamas you get feed! We stayed in the Shady Lady room and had our own private hottub that they warmed for us everyday, but all the other rooms have their own unique traits as well. I highly recommend if you plan on staying in Julian to book this hotel!

My wife and I spent 2 nights in the Dreamcatcher room, and we had the best time. We LOVED that there is not a TV in the room and sat and talked and played games all weekend. The hot tub at sunset is amazing, and into nightfall you can stargaze from the hot tub!! I love being in the mountains and this location is perfect! Just far enough outside of town you don't hear much traffic, but yet still close enough to get to julian in 5 minutes or to lake quyamaca in under 20. We are talking about making this my annual birthday ritual. The staff was very friendly and made checking in and out a breeze! I highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Owner Chris is very easy going and accommodating. We had a very relaxing stay with beautiful views, large room (Willow Warren) super comfy king size bed. Would definitely stay again!

We had a great time. It's easy to get into Julian (though I wouldn't want to walk) and to other locations nearby. Chris is an attentive, good-humored, yet unobtrusive host. Our room was cheerfully decorated and comfortable, staying cool in the heat (highs in low 90°s). More about that elsewhere. The grounds are pleasant, even pretty in a wildwood sort of way. There are, of course, the advertised llamas and goats, but unexpectedly there were birds of many sorts at the water features (e.g., a small fountain), on the ground, and in the trees. I did not stay here myself but had to make a last-minute reservation for my daughter, waking up Chris to give her a room. Chris was so very nice and forgiving and welcoming. She slept well and more importantly she was safe for the night and Chris made sure of that. For that he has my undying gratitude. If ever I am in Julian, I know where I will be staying

My wife and I spent two nights in the Shady Lady room of the Wikiup Hummingbird Hotel. The space and property is so very charming and cozy. The room was just enough for us and we especially enjoyed the fireplace. We also very much loved the private wooden hot tub on the balcony outside the room. It make for amazing evenings soaking in the wood burning tub at sunset. I also have to say that the owner Chris was very friendly and responsive to us. He is such a wonderful host. We also loved feeding the goats and llamas on the property. We hope to be back here some time in the not too distant future.

We had an amazing stay that surpassed our expectations! We came for our wedding weekend and stayed in the Shady Lady. It was even more charming and beautiful than in the photos, and the patio hot tub was so lovely. It was a perfect and relaxing way to end our wedding night.||The bed was super comfortable, the decor was adorable, and we loved feeding the llamas and goats! We took almost as many photos with them as we took at our wedding lol. ||Chris was super welcoming and accommodating allowing us to check in a little early. He also did a full run down of the room, feeding the animals, and he made sure the hot tub was running perfectly for us. Everything about our stay was just wonderful. We will 100% be back!
