Shannon was excellent from the minute we met her to even after our wedding as well making sure to follow up with an email asking how everything went and thanking us for choosing her to be part of one special day.

One thing that stood out to me the most about Shannon, is that we chose to do our own flower arrangements for the chairs, centerpieces, and welcome sign and she went above and beyond helping us get them set up the day of. We are truly thankful that we chose SD events and shannon as our coordinator, they made our wedding the day, the day we had been planning and dreaming of.

Please PLEASE get a coordinator, they’re worth their weight in gold. Shannon McQuade was no exception! From start to finish (a 16 month time frame on our end), Shannon was there coordinating her heart out to assist with contract reviews, spreadsheets (I see you, type A brides!), vendor management and even being willing to be personal security/“the bad cop” wherever needed, handling all things with confidence, even dispute resolution after the wedding with vendors. She truly is a miracle worker, and I’m happy to now also call her a friend. We hired her for partial planning and I am SO GLAD we did, even an organized person like me would’ve collapsed without her (and probably would’ve just ran away to elope instead). She even went out of her way to personally pick up a few things for me before the rehearsal since I was so unbelievably slammed, and saved me an extra trip when we’d had people flying in/staying with us.

We hired Shannon for our wedding for partial coordination (3 months prior to event) with the idea that she would be the point of contact leading up to the big day. It was one of the best ideas we had, and a worthwhile additional cost.

Leading up to the event (2-3 months prior to the event), communication was a bit spotty and occasionally we would need to send a reminder email, but to be completely fair, we were not the most responsive clients either. However, during the 1-month leading up to the event, communication was spot on and Shannon never missed a beat when communicating with vendors or nailing down timelines and the nitty gritty details of the wedding. Even when my entire family was late to the rehearsal the night prior, Shannon never seemed bothered or thrown off, and almost seemed to expect it.

On the day of the event, it was as if we showed up to a party fully planned and coordinated by someone else. Everything was set up and ready to go, and the transitions from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception went beautifully. We hardly heard from Shannon that day, which as the bride and groom, we could not have asked for more. We were stress-free, as intended, and it was all thanks to the hard work and dedication of the SD Event Production team.
