With the sea of five stars, it's hard to decide amongst what seems to be perfect wedding planners all around you. I will do my best to explain why I had the most RELAXING wedding planning experience ever thanks to Sonya.

Context: We had a wedding in San Jose, CA at Blanco Urban Venue. While she is not new to the area (she is in San Diego), the venue was new to her.

Key highlights
1. Vendor selection. Sonya knew exactly what we were looking for and vetted all the vendors that really drove the wedding to the perfection.
- DJ KIXX shocked people in how well he mixed his music, often the top compliment for our wedding
- Zha Zha not only captured photos we wouldn't think of capturing, but also KEPT US ON SCHEDULE!!! So grateful
- Greenfish's food was top notch and everyone loved it. Not often do I hear people compliment wedding food

2. Proactiveness. Sonya always kept us honest and up to date with tasks we needed to do and stepped in when needed. Sometimes, I wondered what we needed to do and Sonya always had it ready like Timelines, Decorations and keeping families on schedule

3. Comfort. Sonya makes you feel comfortable. There's something about the way she works and makes stressful situations relaxing that made this whole experience rather exciting!!

If I have a 2nd wedding (which I won't I hope...) I would absolutely choose her again no matter the location!

We had lots of ideas and changes and she kept her cool, adapted to what we wanted and added her ideas to make our dream wedding come true. She is THE BEST!!! I am not from San Diego, but I wanted my husband and I to have our wedding there. She knew all the amazing vendors and restaurants we ended up collaborating with. I highly recommend Sonya as a wedding planner. We did partial planning with her and she was so responsive to all our emails and questions. She also has great vendor connections so we hardly had to do any research to find the best vendors for our wedding. We were living in the bay area at the time we hired her, then moved to LA, and got married in SD. All of our communication was over the phone and email until the weekend of our wedding. Hiring Sonya was the best decision we made for our wedding because neither of us had enough time to fully plan it ourselves. If you can afford it, I would highly recommend doing full planning (we regret not doing this!)! Sonya is very experienced, she knew exactly how to run the show and all of our guests loved the way they were all incorporated into our table races.

I recently got married on 9/19 at Balboa Park (the Botanical Garden lawns & MOPA) and I can honestly say the day would not have been the same without Sonya's help!

Months prior to the big day, Sonya and I met a few times to develop a checklist of tasks I needed to get done. There are wedding checklists available online but trust me, it helps to have someone like Sonya check in on you from time to time! Sonya is very responsive and will email you back the same day.

She also has great ideas that she caters towards your taste. For example Sonya designed my beautiful escort cards and hand painted each one in my wedding colors. She also put together the table decorations.

About a month before the wedding, she sent out timelines to each of my vendors which I think was essential for a great wedding. Everything went very smoothly and I got many compliments from guests and vendors about Sonya's organization! The wedding party also received a color-coded, detailed, easy-to-read timeline which really kept us on the move and on schedule.

Sonya was absolutely amazing on our wedding day and I highly recommend her! She's organized, punctual, creative, and open-minded. You can't ask for much more than that!

Sonya went above and beyond with our wedding. Hiring her was the best decision my, now, wife and I made. We didn't know how overwhelming planning a wedding was but Sonya made it easy and relieved much of the stress.

She provided a timeline that was easily adjustable, answered any questions we had, even came up with really great suggestions for our wedding. Throughout the whole process, Sonya was calm, collected, and caring, which in turn, relieved a lot of the stress off our backs. Even if you have trouble finding specific vendors, she has many connections under her belt.

During the wedding, she even has solutions for emergencies that may or may not arise. Because of Sonya, our wedding exceeded our expectations and it will be a day both my wife and I will cherish. You are in good hands with her and I would not hesitate to recommend her for any event.

I have to admit, choosing a wedding coordinator was difficult. After all, this person essentially will be helping plan and execute almost all of the crucial details of your wedding.

Sonya, though, was beyond incredible. My (now) husband and I hired her for month-of-coordination, and right from the start she was on top of everything. I could create a huge list of why Sonya was such an asset, but the one attribute that I think is most crucial to include in this review is her ability to balance everything in a timely and informative manner. I never felt pressured to finish anything at an overwhelming pace, because Sonya would make spot-on timelines and send friendly reminders when needed. In addition, she would be more than happy to contact vendors on my behalf and take care of little details that she knew I wouldn't have time for.

Overall, if you are hesitant about spending money on a wedding coordinator, trust me, it's worth it. Sonya is amazing and she helped make my wedding day one of the happiest (and most stress-free) days of my life.
