The hotel itself is nice. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool/hot tub is pretty and lovely views. Unfortunately, we could not stay for our whole reservation (5 days) as there was an issue with ants in our room. We requested to move rooms but the hotel was at capacity so we could not be accommodated. We chose to check out after 1 night instead of dealing with the room being sprayed/treated and breathing in toxic fumes. The team here was easy to work with, promptly issuing a refund. Ants are a common issue in this area and absolutely not the fault of the hotel, however, it might be best to make sure this is checked and addressed when cleaning rooms prior to guest's check in. The breakfast was decent, not great, not terrible. The location is in a nice area but is a bit out of the way and not very walkable. Overall, this would have been a lovely stay had there been no ants in our room....a lot of ants.

I don't mind paying $448 for a 2 night stay at a nice hotel. But I do mind when they make the same mistake on 2 separate visits and don't take the time to rectify the issue.

It's a small thing. Their detergent dispenser for the laundry room doesn't work. Big deal, right? It didn't work last time either. It's been 6 weeks since my last visit, and it's still broke.

In addition, they don't keep detergent at the front desk for patrons to purchase. Then they ask you to go to their "sister" property next door because surely their dispenser should work, but it doesn't. And their sister property doesn't keep detergent at the front desk either.

I know I'm whining ? about such a small thing. But seriously, when you get to your hotel, shower, clean up, then find out you have to make a 5 mile trip to get detergent, it's pretty darn irritating.

Especially when the solution is so simple. Buy a 100 count package of tide pods from Target, Walmart, or Costco for $20 bucks, then give your guests who want to do their laundry a single 25 cent tide pod to do their laundry. It will save your guest from making a 5 mile round trip after they have settled into their room. And, it will keep the hotel from getting a bad review

We had quite a pleasant stay at Ayres Hotel & Spa Mission Viejo with their friendly and helpful staff; clean, very spacious, and comfortable room; hotel is located in a safe and quiet part of town; plenty of free parking; acceptable free breakfast; and, we got a very good rate. If there's a minus, our bed was too firm, which isn't our liking. But, that's just a matter of preference. Overall, it was a great stay.

Overall the hotel was nice. Beautiful courtyard, large rooms and comfortable seating. Reason it got a 4 instead of a 5 was because there was some sort of piece of sharp metal in the bed that we couldn't get out (which of course wasn't noticed until we went to bed). Managed to mostly sleep on the other side, but found it countless times during the night when it would poke either a foot or a leg. The other issue was the coffee maker being broken. I'm a girl who requires coffee immediately. 🙂 The fact it poured out the back instead of my cup was not a great start to my morning - when I'd already had a lousy night's sleep because of the metal. Told the person at the counter when I checked out. She said she'd have maintenance look at it, but didn't seem to concerned about me and my night (a simple sorry and please go get some coffee from the restaurant would have been perfect). Like I said, overall I liked the place and if I'm down in that area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there, I think I just got unlucky with my room.

My Family had a leak in our Home and had to have the entire and Main Bedroom and Bathroom and Kids Bathroom completely re done which made it unlivable so we decided to stay in a hotel and went to 3 Different Hotels in a week and ended up staying in the Ayres Hotel and spa for over 2 weeks while waiting for our home to be fixed.
We were hotel hoping in the beginning on our own dime while waiting for insurance to take over and when I booked the Ayres Hotel and spa I didn’t wanna leave or go to any other Hotel so I told the insurance this is where we wanna be until we can go back home so the insurance took over but the Hotel had two nights in the first two weeks that were fully booked so the first week we had to switch to a King and sofa for 2 Adults and 2 kids and it was still very spacious and then moved us back to two queens Studio room which is a great layout and a very nice room that we ended up staying at for the remaining time we where there.
The lady at the front desk Maliha Khan was Very helpful and took amazing care of me and my family during our stay Her Customer Service is a 10/10.
Overall the Hotel is very Clean and Relaxing and there pool is also clean and well taken care of I would recommend this hotel to anyone.!

Shout out to Emmanuel at the front desk for being so kind and helpful!

The hotel is nice, with a serene outside courtyard, ample free parking, and spacious clean rooms. Breakfast was delicious, and they have a wide variety of options that are sure to please everyone. The only downside is that the sofa bed wasn't very comfortable, but everything else was great.

I have stayed at Ayres Hotels often; however, this particular hotel was a major disappointment.

The room smelled of cleaning chemicals, but despite that, there was a large (1sq. ft.) stain in the carpet in the middle of the floor that we noticed shortly after unpacking. I called the front desk to have it cleaned and they responded that they would clean it the following day after we departed.

We had a busy agenda the following day so we went to bed at 9:00 PM so we could get an early start the next day. Unfortunately we couldn’t get any sleep due to the racket generated by a large group of kids in the central courtyard area. Our room faced the courtyard.

We kept hearing screams so I finally looked out the window into the courtyard and saw groups (5-10 per group) of kids running around the courtyard and upstairs on the 2nd floor balcony surrounding the courtyard. Our room was on the 2nd floor. There were 2 male adults that seemed to be “in charge” of these kids, but no effort was made to quiet them down since this was a hotel. The adults seemed to be preoccupied with whatever they had in a cooler they kept nearby.

When I called the front desk to complain, they said they would quiet the group down. There was no quiet. I called an hour later at 10:00 PM and was again told they would ask the party to quiet down.

At 10:15, the group started to leave the courtyard. By 10:30, quiet had returned.

I complained to the front desk the next morning and was told that quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM, and I should have known that because it was on the registration card. I never saw any advisory about the courtyard being a place for running and screaming groups of kids.

In the end, I didn’t even get an apology. If you are a weary traveler, I recommend you avoid this hotel at all costs. I know I will.
