I normally do not like to write a bad review specially for a small and local business, which we try to support, but in this case it is a must. It has been a couple of years since our horrific experience with this agency. The delay to write is due being busy with my mom's health. We booked a travel to Iceland which was supposed to cost around 7K in total. we also made sure to request a solid insurance that gives us a full refund with no questions asked because we have aging parents. we were assured we have a fully refundable insurance and we did pay a good amount for it. I think around $300 per person if I recall correctly. Soon we were up-sold to add a stop in canada to see polar bears for a reasonable amount which we okayed. They had our credit card and we saw so many charges here and there instead of one big chunk. This made it very hard to track with our busy schedule. It was not until my mom fell sick and we decided to cancel (given we still had more than 4 months to the trip) that we found out we had been charged more than 8K and have not even paid for most of the main trip to Iceland!. when we informed them we need to cancel they responded it should not be a problem to get a full refund given we got insurance. soon after they changed their story and said our insurance requires a death certificate or proof of serious illness. the same type of lame insurance you can get fo $30 dollars and not for the premium amount we paid . The agent was so unprofessional and constantly changed his story of charges on our cards and gave us the run around to provide us a full statement of charges. to make the long story short we decided to meet with the owner and tell her our experience and she was worse than her agent and not only did not acknowledge the insurance scam she accused us of lying and had zero compassion about our situation.
Extremely frustrated and powerless even with our own credit card company since we had voluntarily given our credit card to the agency, we gave up really heavy hearted but had no time to do anything about this terrible experience. We had to deal with my mom's deteriorating health issue. My mom was eventually diagnosed with cancer in august and started chemo in September- which was the trip date. (luckily as of last month she is cancer free). We ended up dealing with the insurance ourselves and as you can imagine it was hell but we had documents of all my mom's chemo schedule and eventually got most of 8K back. I would never recommend this agency and hope they wake up to how unprofessional and uncaring they were during a terrible time of our lives. so much for trying to support a local business!
