Nice space, it's basically a blank canvas, you can make it into whatever you want. I was there for a wedding. Staff was great, very attentive and helpful with all aspects of the event. The end.

I got married at The Penny in September 2023 and it was such an incredible experience working with Anelise and team from start to finish. We toured venues from Sacramento, CA to the Bay Area to Paso and a few others in SLO but fell in love with The Penny and their rental inventory from our very first visit. Their team made our wedding day go so seamlessly and we loved working with our vendor team from their preferred list of partners! Our guests loved the convenient location downtown and had a blast walking to the bars on Higuera after our reception ended.

As someone whos attended tons of weddings in the last 2 years and having endless drives to remote venues and wineries, The Penny was such a breath of fresh air. Located right downtown, we just Uber'd from our hotel and walked everywhere all weekend. No stressing about driving home after having a few drinks.

The space itself beautiful But the real winner was the convenience factor. Everything was walkable - bars, restaurants, hotels. Made the whole weekend feel more like a celebration than a logistical nightmare.

Catering was fantastic. After attending too many "rustic" weddings hours from civilization, this place proves you can have an amazing venue without sacrificing convenience.

Definitely the most practical yet beautiful wedding I've experienced!

We hosted a post-wedding cocktail and dinner celebration here and it couldn't have been a better experience. Aneliese is an absolute dream to work with. The team is detail-oriented, able to distill things into digestible steps and decisions, and Aneliese in particular has excellent taste and was able to provide a lot of direction and inspiration given our aesthetic.

We don't have a single complaint about the entire experience and look back on that evening with such overwhelming joy, all thanks to The Penny team. For anyone looking for a wedding/party venue, this is an excellent choice.

We got married at The Penny in November 2023 - we planned our wedding in 6 months and Lauren and her team were stellar. I really appreciated how much I could lean on them for the design / aesthetics of the day and didn't need to coordinate decor rentals since they have so many items in house. Lauren's team took care of every contract, timeline, set-up everything. Her team is detailed, kind, and on top of everything. In general, The Penny is a great location and really lovely venue. We had 70 people at our wedding, and the size of the space felt just right. I would highly recommend The Penny - not just for weddings, but any event!

We wanted to say thank you so much to the Penny and all the staff for what a wonderful job they did for our wedding! The Penny team handled everything so well leading up to and during our big day which allowed us to relax and have the most wonderful day celebrating with our family and friends. Our Penny wedding coordinator, Anelise, and her team were so welcoming and the absolute best to work with. They had the perfect energy for our event and we felt right at home having our wedding there. Highly recommend the Penny and working with Anelise & the Penny team for your wedding or any event! Such a lovely space in downtown SLO!

We had the best experience with The Penny for our wedding. Lauren, Anelise and Tiana were all so wonderful to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process. I loved how easy The Penny made it for rentals so we did not have to go through outside companies. They also did an amazing job with "my vision" and the space looked so beautiful the day of the ceremony and I could not have been happier. I definitely recommend adding the 'day of coordinator' to your package, they will start contacting your vendors 6 weeks before the date and save you from a lot of headaches and stress 🙂

We had an incredible Christmas party at The Penny. The venue was so fun, the music, dancing, and food were great. Highly recommend this destination!
