Had a great time with Scenic Bear Viewing today! Martin (owner, pilot and guide) flew us to Lake Clark National Park where we came across many bears - a mother cub pair, and several other lone bears. We walked along the beach and also through some of the forest trails. We always felt safe with Martin and he knows how to get the group close to bears safely for great pictures and experiences. On the flight there and back, he took some scenic detours to show us more of the national park. He definitely knows the area well. I liked that he seemed to genuinely enjoy spending time with the bears and make sure to not disturb their natural habitat.

For expectation setting, there’s an email sent out that details everything you should know about the day. We definitely got lucky with the weather and only had a minor delay in the morning but in his email, he does say longer delays or cancellations can happen due to weather. Make sure to bring a packed lunch (no fish)!

Our experience with Scenic Bear Viewing was absolutely incredible! The entire trip was well-organized and accurate on times, making it smooth and stress-free. The scenic flight at Lake Clarke, just a 30-minute ride, was one of the most amazing things we’ve ever seen.

Although we only saw two bears, they came quite close. Martin and Sam were fantastic guides.

Highly recommend Scenic Bear Viewing!

Amazing experience. Martin was a great pilot and guide, and I couldn't believe the bears! We got to see 3, 2 up close, and then a fabulous fly-by of 3 glaciers in Lake Clark NP. Truly a trip of a lifetime!

GO ON THIS TRIP!!!!! It is worth it 1,000 times over!! Martin is the best guide we could have ever hoped for! He is so aware, knowledgeable, and fun!! He is completely invested in his guests having the best possible experience. He not only captured this day beautifully for us, but he went above and beyond to teach us, make us comfortable and safe, and even flew us up to and over the volcano & glacier!!

Absolutely awesome experience. Had a beautiful flight to a very secluded beach where we got within a few feet of bears digging for clams. Then we went into a beautiful meadow to watch the bears eating sedge. It was very peaceful and private. The pilot guides were friendly and informative. I felt very safe, both in the plane, and with the bears. Highly recommended.

We had the best trip with Martin! He is so calm, knowledgeable and will answer all your questions, and we had lots! Sam was super sweet and helpful getting us all ready and feeling prepared for the day. The flight was smooth and Martin took a little extra time to show us a glacier close up. We never felt scared being this close to the bears. If you can don't think twice and go on this trip!

My partner and I had the best time of our lives with Scenic Bear Viewing. Martin took us to Katmai National Park where we came within touching distance of a mother and 2 cubs. We also happened to cross paths with couple more bears.

Martin knows Katmai very well. He knows his aircraft in and out and takes very good care of his Cessna-206. He calmly instructed us on what to and what not to do around the bears. We have never been up so close around any wildlife (if you discount coming face to face with the feral racoons rummaging through your trash in Seattle). For us, this was like being part of some Nat Geo documentary crew. All in all, we spent close to 4.5 hours around the bears which was more than what was planned initially. Martin just loves what he does and is a great guide who doesn't hurry you around. Basically, we had the whole place to ourselves.

Fall in Alaska was a sensory overload in itself, and this definitely was the highlight of our entire trip! Thank you, Martin, for showing us the time of our lives!
