This was the trip of a lifetime, and wouldn’t have been possible without the crew at Sundowner Safaris. They are very professional, and worked within our budget. Traveling across the world can be a daunting task, but they made the planning process easy and fun. From the second we got off the plane in Cape Town, to leaving our last lodge, we never had to think or worry about what to do. All of our transfers were easy to find and always on time. Anytime we had questions, if on the rare occasion we didn’t get a hold of someone immediately, they got back to us within the hour.

In Cape Town, we stayed at a great Hotel on Kloof St. Lots of great food, shopping and night life. It’s always a quick 10 min uber to the Waterfront. We also went to the Cape of Good Hope, and saw the Simon’s town penguins. Our tour guide was very insightful and fun to talk to.

From Cape Town, we went to Franschhoek for a few days in wine country. The food and wine were phenomenal, and the people even better.

From wine country, we had an easy early morning transfer back to Cape Town to fly out to the Timbavati where our transfer driver met us at the gate and took us to our lodge.

We are a group of 6 friends who used Sundowner Safaris to plan and book our trip to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and to 3 safari lodges in Botswana in September 2024. I worked with Samar. SHE WAS INCREDIBLE! Samar listened to what we wanted, stayed within our timeline of 2 weeks as well as our budget. Samar was in constant contact through all the stages of planning and had quick responses to any of my many questions! She put together an amazing trip for us. We started in Victoria Falls at the Lokuthula Lodge for 2 nights. Then went to Ngoma, Chobe for 3 nights; Kwando Lagoon for 3 nights; and ended at Pom Pom Camp in the Okavango Delta for 3 nights. One of our guides asked who planned our trip because it was an excellent itinerary! Sundowner Safaris coordinated all of our transfers, helped us pack the correct clothes and duffel bags. If you’re interested in an African safari, Sundowner Safaris will work with you to put together an unforgettable trip. My wife and I worked with the Sundowner team to go on a 7 night trip that included 2 nights in Victoria Falls and 5 nights on safari in Botswana.

Unlike other safari agencies, Samar listened to what we wanted out of the trip and provided a variety of options and price points to choose from. She didn’t pressure us into a particular option, instead she gave practical advice based on her own experiences and the experiences of her clients. During these 7 days, we never had to think about logistics, it was all taken care of for us.

Our group of 10 people (4 children -ages 11, 12, 14, and 15 and 6 adults - ages 21-76) just returned from a two-week trip to Zimbabwe (two camps in Hwange National Park and one camp in Mana Pools) organized by Sundowner Safaris and we had an absolutely phenomenal adventure!

From beginning to end, Sundowner was wonderful to work with. They were incredibly diligent in ensuring the trip was exactly what we wanted, including time before the bush experience at the beginning of trip in Joburg and Vic Falls and at the end in Harare. Samar was so responsive and made sure we were prepared for everything and that the trip was just right. It was a seamless and incomparable vacation. All of the places we stayed were jaw-droppingly beautiful and comfortable with such wonderful ambience. The food was incredible, including vegetarian meals. The staff and the guides at the camps were outstanding, knowledgeable, and kind people, and we of course, especially cherished our time with the inimitable Benson, who made sure everyone was comfortable and that each day was a positive and memorable experience! We were so well taken care of. Of course, the scenery and the animals we saw were just awesome- so many treasured moments peering at the natural wonders of Africa. And we have to mention the visit to Lesedi School and Clinic, as it was so inspiring. This trip changed the life of every single person on it and has been etched in our hearts forever. It was a really hard trip to get over. Thanks to Sundowner for making it happen: the trip far exceeded all expectations and was truly unforgettable.

Our Sundowner Safaris trip to Victoria Falls and Botswana (Chobe NP and Okavango Delta) was the best trip we have taken in over 25 years of world travel, including 2 previous safaris. Samar was a dream to work with and gave us the trip that we wanted. Accomodations were 5 star and their staff's were excellent as was the food. Our guide, Benson, is one of the best guides in Africa but also a wonderful host. He arranged a special dinner and lunch in th ebush for Michele's birthday as well as gave her a flower necklace and water lily hat on one of the bost cruises. We will definitely have Samar arrange our next safari and will want Benson to guide again. Sndowner safaris is definitely the 'best available'.

Just returned from a 6 day safari in Botswana with our kids, ages 11 and 13, and Samar at Sundowner rocked the planning of this trip! We put our request in only about three months before we wanted to go, and she immediately started looking into options (not all camps have a lodging for more than 2pp). She worked with us to figure out the best mix for our 6 days, always offering options and making us aware of different aspects to consider. Husband and I had traveled to Botswana fifteen years ago with Benson, who's just the most knowledgeable guide and all-around lovely person, so funny and warm, but this was the kids' first time. To see the looks on their faces when they saw cheetahs for the first time and when lions crossed about 8 feet from our vehicle was among the top experiences of my lifetime. Everything went perfectly smoothly on the entire trip. I can't say enough good things about Sundowner Safaris!
