We had a great experience from booking to taking home our catch. Terry was very responsive and made the booking process easy w/ clear instructions. The fishing was great, and Ray went above and beyond to help us land a beautiful fish. We joked that we had a "family curse" because we've traveled all over as a family and always take a fishing charter but never catch anything. Ray made sure we broke the curse! Without an expert guide we would have never landed this fish because it got tied up on a log, but Ray found a way! Thanks for a great memory which was the highlight of our trip!

This was my first time to Alaska and my first time salmon fishing. Doug was our guide and was the best. He was so kind, patient and told some great stories. He knew the best spot to put in at and helped us each step of the way. This was my first fish I’ve ever caught. There were 4 of us girls and we caught 3 King Salmons and caught the hook on one almost getting 4. I would highly recommend Doug. He knows his stuff and was so accommodating. Thanks for the best time Doug!!!

What a waste of time and money. I am now convinced they write their own reviews

We get there on time (0445 as requested) we leave at 0510 -
We take a 5 Minute run upstream, and anchor. We bait up and put the lines out. Waiting patiently, knowing we will geta hit any time. Trusting that the Guide knows the area and the proper techniques to put fish in the boat.
After 2 hours of not changing or even checking our bait or, we let out some 5 feet of line as instructed.
After another 30 minutes “Ray” let out a little anchor line and extend our reach.
In the meantime, less than 200 yards away, three fishermen exclaimed they are catching one after the other and the captain says "Ah, they are just a bunch of loud mouth know-it-alls that like to brag”.
After pleading to find a better spot – he pulled the anchor and through it out about 10 feet further off the bank thus current pulled out a bit. It’s a start I thought.
1.5 hours later - we get a 6" Dolly Varden. RAY then decides to move us right back to where we were when we first anchored. 30 minutes pass and we get an 8" Dolly Varden,
Again upstream a few yards, one the guys upstream said see you later to the other 2 , stating he limited and others said they only had a couple to go. I asked the "guide" about moving and he said "we will check the slough on the way back in.
Then RAY says - If you really want to catch fish, you can go...{Gave us directions to that area where the others were fishing).
FINALLY: 955 AM Get a big hit, fish came off. I asked for more bait, and the answer was NOPE, We are done, That's 5 hours, he pulled anchor took the rods and the 4 minute boat ride back to the launch area - we were done.
In summary:
I do not feel the “Guide” cared or even tried to catch fish that morning. He is a one Spot "Guide" with a one tactic that refuses to try. In his defense he showed a picture of the four fish caught 2 days ago. Supposedly on his boat.
I've taken over 100 charter fishing tours both offshore and inshore in places from Alaska to Florida to ensure the small business stays in business and to learn from a trusted source placing my trust that the local guide would want to demonstrate his/her knowledge of the proper techniques for that area and the targeted species. I have seen guides work hard sometimes and still get skunked, But the fewer fish on the boat the harder the guide worked to get fish on board. I know you can get skunked even after all that work. I have tipped the captains as much as 75% of the cost of the trip, and up to 50% with no fish on board. In my opinion, level of effort should be rewarded. I walked away with my entire tip amount in my pocket. I was tempted to call their office and tell them they owe me money, but I won’t. Not my style.
Spend your money elsewhere, Not Here or just ask them for directions to where you can drive over step out of the car and catch your limit.

We had a great trip! We’ve used this company for several years and this is always one of our best trips! You guys go above and beyond every time we go out. This time I actually out fished my family. Thanks for allowing me to have bragging rights for the year! See you next year!

Our guide Dave, was a super nice guy. The trip was a total bust. $800 to travel 1/2 mile down the river and drop anchor 20 feet from the shore and sit there for 5 hours. No back up plan or different location to try if there was no fish biting there.

We booked this trip a couple of months ahead of our trip to Alaska. Terri scheduled our date sent all the information for meeting our guide Ray as promised. Our guide Ray worked hard to get us on the fish and we caught our limit.
Equipment was excellent and Ray spotted Bald Eagles along the way we would have never seen.
We had a great time and this is a trip we highly recommend.
Thanks Ray your the best.

Wasted an entire day out without so much as a bite. And that means NO ONE on the boat got a bite. Don't waste your time or your money, look elsewhere.

We booked this half day fishing charter after our cruise so we stayed a few extra days to go. There were 4 of us and another couple that was on the boat when we got there. We took a two minute boat ride from the landing, put 6 lines in the water and sat in the same place for 5 hours. No bites, no lure changes, no relocating and no fish. We fish a lot so the no fish can happen but no option B to try was disappointing. Called another fishing charter and they said the salmon are still a few weeks out before they start running.
After writing this review. I read a very similar review where Terry said to call, so I did. The response was…how should they know when the fish start running and Ray got on the phone to tell me I was lying, had a bad attitude and had bananas in my pocket. Such an unprofessional way to handle a disappointed customer.
