JT is took us bird watching Golden Gate Park bird watching back in 2022 and I couldn’t have had a better time. Supremely knowledgeable amateur bird watcher and as personable of a guide one would wish to have lead them around, not just bird watching, but going about on any adventure. I would suggest to anyone old, young, or somewhere in-between that whatever bird watching adventure you end up going on that you will surely leave knowing more than you knew to start and having you interested in wanting to learn more. I’ve done several walks with JT now, both individually and in groups. I’m absolutely blown away by his level of knowledge of birds and his uncanny ability to clearly explain what we are seeing. It’s an awesome experience and I’ve learned a lot not only about birds and nature, but also the beauty of the San Francisco Bay Area. Great experience and I can’t recommend JT enough.

JT was a wonderful host and tour guide. We joined for a Spring time bird watching tour and then had a hot chocolate at the local super historic cafe, which was a great plus and add on to the afternoon. I have lived in the Bay Area for over a decade, including by GG Park in the Haight, and he made the tour feel like my first time in the park. The bird watching was really special in the Spring and he made sure to point out and explain all the different winged visitors and residents, while ensuring we got to see the babies(!) and watch for as little or as long as we wanted at each view point. He even loaned me his much nicer binoculars so I could get the full experience. There were many birds I had never noticed before and he was exceptionally knowledgeable on the native species. As a novice to beginner level birder I felt like I learned a lot and would recommend this to all ages and all levels, whether you live locally or are just visiting SF for the week.

I did a private tour with JTBirds at Central Park NYC. I am a photographer, never did birding before. At dawn we went to the park, the amount of birds and wild life at that time was amazing, the whole experience was really priceless. Having someone that helps you understand which bird you photographed and their backstories made of it an experience that I will always cherish.

JT is about seeing That bird. I went on a wonderful birding stroll at Heron’s Head Marsh with JT: “Look, Look again do you see?” There were hidden shore birds in plain sight.
