Found it while looking for Zinn Park. I'm so glad I did, because I absolutely love history. (Outside, no tickets, needed it was free, 3D building wall mural) Mr. Hank Thomas audio recording of his experience. Amazing! Great place to visit if you are researching history and the historical locations. A FANTASTIC way to help history come to life.

This was really moving of an experience. I didn’t really understand what they went (African Americans) went through until I did a lot of these monuments on this trip. “Would you get on the bus”

Great start to the newer Freedom Riders National Monument. The visitor center was closed (Thursday visit) but is open Friday- Sunday. The interpretive panels and mural give a great introduction to the Freedom Riders experience. There is a small information kiosk at the chamber and visitors center to get your passport stamp and Jr. Ranger books/ badges for the kids. Worth a visit when in the area.

This is a part of America's Civil Rights history. The bus station does need renovation. BUT, the story of the Freedom Riders is told outside next to the mural. Thomas Odom took me inside the bus station and discussed some of the future renovation plans.

Really glad we stopped here. The mural and the moment by moment timeline was super cool.

It is a quiet area and its easy to park alongside the sidewalk. We spent about 30 minutes reading through everything, but we really took our time with the kids!

A lot of great information. Enjoyed talking to the two Park Rangers that were working. Will be excited to see when they have the old Greyhound Bus Depot finished.

Very well done! Moved me to tears. The only exhibit right now is in the alley where the attacks started, the story told in a very clear timeline with fantastic pictures. Read every word! There may be more to come inside the old bus station, but so far, it's empty. Anniston itself also has some really beautiful architecture as well.
