Rick is a fun and expert captain. His 40' Catalina is comfortable for a party of 6 and the perfect size for San Francisco bay. We were sailing at 8+ knots comfortably. When compared to the ticketed charters, its worth a few more dollars to have the sailboat to yourself and flexibility to leave whenever you like. We had a great time and we hope you do too!

I would surely book Rick as our captain again. He was exceptionally well organized leading up to our sailing date, and he delivered exactly as promised. Rick gave us a personal experience tailored to individuals' desire to participate or not during the sail (we did a corporate outing for 5 people). I'd lived in San Francisco for 10 years during the 90s and only experienced the Bay via ferry boats (which are cool, for sure). But recently on a visit to SF I took some friends on a Bay cruise by GS Charters. What an exhilarating day! It was so different to see and feel the environment from a beautiful, serious sailboat! Everything was perfect. Our skipper, Rick Niles, was experienced, friendly, and well versed on the environment and history of the Bay. The boat was gorgeous, spick-and-span, and a pleasure to be in. What a thrill when the wind filled the sails and we raced across the water! (I should add that my friends and I felt safe the whole time.) I highly recommend Rick and his cruises! p.s. The treats he provided were yummy, too.
