Had the place practically to ourselves, been here many times and it is positively the most peaceful location, don't miss the visitor center and the sad story of the native people who for better or worse were thrust into the Spanish world and ultimately nearly all dying from the old world diseases. We'll presented
and the story of the rebuilding of the mission is quite amazing.

The California parks do a great job of maintaining this mission! The buildings are very well maintained and the visitor center was awesome and very well laid out. Probably the best mission experience we've had after visiting approximately 7 other missions.

Visited on a weekday after watching a rocket launch at Vandenberg. The gift shop was closed. The restrooms needed attention to restock supplies. We walked around the grounds but there was little activity. I enjoyed seeing the chapel and girls living quarters. There were a few animals and chickens in pens. Lots of prarie dogs running around. The landscape was very dry. It was nice to see the mission still open.

Wonderful museum and visit to the large mission area. Beautifully reconstructed in the 30's by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Lots of parking.
