Sable Mountain Outfitters is hands down one of the best experiences I've had. I've been out with Ann Marie a handful of times now, and every trip just gets better. I've always been a bit apprehensive about horseback riding, but Ann Marie is amazing at making sure you feel safe and at ease. She's incredibly patient, gives clear instructions, and takes the time to make sure you're comfortable every step of the way.

The horses are fantastic--well-trained and dependable, which is a huge plus when you're riding through some rugged terrain. But it's not just about the horses; the whole experience is incredible. The landscape is breathtaking and it makes you want to stop and take it all in. It's a beautiful, untouched piece of nature that feels like it's all your own.

Ann Marie is a wonderful host and guide. Her connection to the land is so clear, and you can tell she truly cares about sharing this special place with others. I have been using Sable Mountain Outfitters for over 20 years, and they are excellent! They have great horses and mules, great camps set up with everything you need, and the guides know the Flat Tops area extremely well. Ann Marie and her staff are very friendly and great with horses, packing, and checking on their clients during the hunt if it is a drop camp. If it is a fully guided hunt, the guides and camp cook are there with you the entire time day and night. I highly recommend Sable Mountain Outfitters for both hunting trips and for fishing trips in the summer!

If you want a high quality horse pack experience in Colorado, I would recommend that you book with Sable Mountain. Ann Marie runs this business to perfection, with quality horses, gear and guides. We caught and released so many fish on our 3 day trip in 2023 that our arms were getting tired, the food was always delicious and the scenery unmatched. We booked another trip for 2024 and all of us are excited to go again. We are novice riders that always felt comfortable on their mountain horses, that they care for year around. The camps are as clean and organized as you will ever find, and the care for the environment is also clearly noticed. They love what they do and it shows. I am sure the hunting side of the business runs equally as smooth, and hope to book a trip in the future with them.
