What a wonderful excursion at Susitna Sled Dog Adventures. Rohn and Alyssa were the best hosts! I had the unique opportunity of being a party of one, so I had their undivided attention for the entire visit. Their animals are all friendly, funny, and great to be around. It was so interesting to learn so much about the dogs and their daily activities as well as the sport. I did get to fully enjoy the dogs "howling" events which were amazing. I spent a little time with the newest additions to their Huskey family. I would highly recommend making this a part of your adventure should you be in the Talkeetna area. IF there during winter -- take the sled tour - I know I would!

An amazing experience! The owners of the sled dog team : Rohn, his wife Alyssa & their adorable boy Kaladin were so welcoming and naturally very knowledgeable ( Rohn is a 2nd generation musher & 2 time champion from a legacy family)! I highly recommend taking the tour, if here in summer where you not only get the meet the dogs, you can take them for a walk! Extra bonus: there was a litter of 11wk old pups to play with as well!
Made my visit to Talkeetna a very memorable one! Thank you guys!

What an amazing experience! As a dog owner and lover, it was very obvious they care for their dogs and have a passion for dog sledding. I had the opportunity to meet and ride with Alyssa, she and her husband own Susitna Sled. She was a wonderful guide and engaging. I enjoyed learning about Alyssa's background, the dogs and sleds, and their family. She was very patient in answering my 100 questions. I could have stayed there all day meeting the dogs and asking Alyssa questions. And, I didn't feel like I was just another tourist. She cared about the experience.

I would recommend standing versus sitting as you get a better feel of the movement and can watch their feet. Also, I had a better viewpoint of the dogs while they were working and could understand more about the different positions. I was fortunate to see the training of lead dogs which she changed at the halfway point.

Next time I would love to learn the basics of how operate the sled and the commands. 🙂

This was a really joyful and also informative experience. I mean what is better than a whole bunch of happy dogs all around you just waiting to be pet and loved on? We also learned a ton from our really fun and knowledgeable host. It was pouring down rain and I still wished we could just stay all day, it was that enjoyable.

An amazing Alaskan experience with a high quality family owned business. Meeting the dogs was awesome, some are very sweet and others shy, each with a unique personality. You are free to ride regardless of weather, just make sure to bring all your layers in case it gets cold. If you're very lucky, Denali will be viewable on the ride and there may even be puppies!

Could not recommend this business, their dogs, and the owners highly enough!

Our trip was perfect. I’ve lived in Alaska since 1976 and it was my first winter sled dog ride. Great set up with warm cabin to put our gear on and visit with puppies after the ride. Alyssa was welcoming. Rohn gave us an excellent fun and informative tour sharing his lifetime of knowledge. The route was beautiful, the dogs were amazing and the whole experience through the fresh snow could not have been better. It actually exceeded my expectations.
I live in Willow and am sure I’ll return with any visitors. Highly recommend to anyone.

These guys are fantastic, they were generous with their time, knowledge and especially their amazing dogs. It’s clear these guys love their dogs and give them loads of care.

This is a smarter operation and we are so so happy we did the tour with them! They even had new litter of puppies that we got to hangout - these guys are a must see, we highly recommend!!!

We had an absolutely amazing time with Alyssa and Rohn! The trail was beautiful, the dogs were happy and gave us a warm welcome. Chatting with them after while playing with the puppies was amazing! They are very nice and happy to answer any questions you have about what they do. Can’t wait to come back!!
