This is an amazing tour! Very comfortable, able to park on almost any sand bar for photo opportunities or just to explore and stretch your legs. The most versatile and fun river cruise I have ever done.

Jerrid & Phil were great hosts on this 4 + hour excursion! We thought about taking the 1.5 hr tour out of Talkeetna but actually had time for the longer tour on the Knik River/ Glacier Tour. We took a variety of different excursions on our trip to Alaska but this was certainly the best time and money spent! Well worth every penny. We were up close to the Glacier and got some amazing pictures and video. If you have time call and book it.. if not… then take the short excursion.. you won’t be disappointed.

This tour was so much fun! Absolutely made my trip to Talkeetna that much more memorable and exciting! Jared is a master at gliding through the water with the hovercraft. The beautiful views of the river and mountains were unbeatable. Got to see some amazing wild life along the way and panning for gold was so addicting. Phill was a great teacher at explaining what to look for. The guys were so sweet and had so much knowledge to share. Yarrow (row) was also the most adorable little crew member.
10/10 will do again. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

If you want to ride in the coolest vehicle, get a education on the most beautiful place ever, and do donuts in the river. Then you have come to the right place. Jerred is awesome captain. And we even get to look for gold. Worth it every time. Treats each customer with a personal touch

Fun tour out of talkeetna, never been in a hover boat before. Glided over water and sand banks. Saw some eagle nests and porcupine in a tree. Stopped on a river island for gold panning and rock hounding. Saw some brown bear tracks. Got to make friends with the co-pilot a, sweet little dachshund!

So, if you want to do something different and incredibly epic, DO THIS!! I had an absolute blast! Saw some cool wildlife, enjoyed the ride, Jared and Red were incredible guys and incredible guides. Plus, let's be honest, how many of your friends can say they've been on an actual hovercraft Not a jet boat, but a real hovercraft. Driving from water to land to water. That's a crazy experience.
Of all the things I did in Skagway, this was my favorite excursion. By far.

First, I don't do a lot of tours like this and second, I don't usually write Google reviews so that is already saying something. But more to the point, This tour was incredible. Why, you might ask? First, I was immediately impressed by the captain and his crew for the way they executed their safety procedures and communications before we even left the harbour. Second, our guide, David (Redd) warmly welcomed us aboard with equal amounts of charm and knowledge about the area. His ability to impart historical information in a fun and engaging way took what could otherwise be predictable Gold Rush content and made it into memorable and entertaining content.

Their ability to get the vessel into shallow water was very exciting and there happened to be a humpback whale in the Dyea inlet and we were able to view it feeding (from a respectful distance) and witnessed the majesty of nature. Also, I appreciated how when our hovercraft approached a local fellow fishing in his small boat, we gave him lots of room and respected his privacy.

In addition to the whale, our guide and the crew knew just where to go to see a few eagles which is one of the most excellent games of Where's Waldo. Lots of great knowledge about rock formations and glacial activity, too. I learned a lot and the 1.5hour tour was over before I knew it. The covered cabin of the hovercraft kept the ocean spray outside and it was pleasantly cozy inside - Oh, and when we were near the whale, we were able to open windows to get a clear view which made taking photos a breeze.

If you only do one shore excursion on your cruise or are visiting Skagway by highway, this tour won't disappoint. Bring a fully charged camera, a hoodie if the sun is behind the clouds and don't worry about a queasy stomach one bit. Because this vessel is ON the water rather than IN it, you don't really move around like you would on a typical boat. This tour is truly one of a kind and it's operated by locals. You really can't beat it. Run, don't walk. Thank me later. You're welcome.
