I had a cancelled flight in Dillingham so called Bear Paw Inn to see about getting a room, Jon, the owner answered and was super friendly and told me he had a room available and he was even on the way to the airport already to pick someone else up. Prices are very reasonable for the area and I was more than happy with my stay. Had a couple friends get a room as well and they also enjoyed the stay. Teresa took us to the airport the next morning and she was also amazing and very helpful. Also had some amazing stories from growing up in the area! Will definitely be staying again if I’m in town..

We loved our stay at Bear Paw Inn. John is great to work with and shares his knowledge of the area. The rooms were terrific. They are spacious and have kitchens. Our family stayed 2 nights on our way to round island. Beds had nice mattresses. We also enjoyed the tea and coffee selection in the rooms.

Very cozy, had to stay overnight for flight next day. Was perfect. Slept very well. Great wifi and they even had CNBC. There was kitchen, teas, coffee and oatmeal. Felt good to be able to relax after a long fishing trip. Thank you

My husband and I stayed in the Bristol Bay Suite at Bear Paw Inn, Dillingham Alaska over Thanksgiving vacation. We had a delightful stay enjoying the 4 poster King sized bed, jetted tub, large screened TV, and a well equipped kitchen. Every area including the deck with table and chairs has great views looking out to water or mountains. Bristol Bay Suite was clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. We give Bear Paw Inn a 5 * recommendation and would love to stay here again. It is definitely a cut above.

There aren't many lodging options in Dillingham, and many are located outside of the city center. The Bear Paw Inn is a great option if you're staying in town. ||||This inn looks to be a house that was renovated to serve as an inn. My room -- the Katmai Suite -- was incredibly spacious. It included a full kitchen, ensuite bathroom with tub/shower combo, a queen bed, couch, and satellite TV. Free wifi was provided, and it worked fairly well. There were windows on three sides of the room, and blackout curtains were provided. ||||The owner was thoughtful, checking in to see if I needed a ride from the airport and also providing a pay for use cell phone since my Verizon smartphone was useless in Dillingham. ||||My only complaint was that there was no closet in this room. I ended up using the kitchen chairs to hang my jackets and pants. ||||Note that this inn has changed its name to the Bear Paw Inn -- TripAdvisor, please update your listing.

I stayed for 5 nights at this inn. If you're staying in town, there are not many hotel options, and this is one of the best. Unlike the nearby Bristol Inn, which has superior accommodations, this inn has fairly reliable Internet service, which is the primary reason I opted to stay here. However, the room was smaller and more expensive than the Bristol. ||The inn is unstaffed for the most part. Prior to my arrival, the inn management did not respond to a short email inquiry that I had. When I arrived in the early evening, I found only a phone number to call for service, which was useless to me as my cell service does not work in Alaska. After knocking on several doors, I found the night manager, who lives on site. There was no formal check-in process, but I was quickly shown my room and given a key. There was no daily cleaning service during my stay, and multiple calls to the day manager about how to dispose of trash were unanswered. I finally met the owner on the last evening of my stay, when he arrived unannounced to collect payment. ||My room, while small, had a kitchenette with a fridge, oven and microwave. The kitchen was fairly well-equipped, although no bakeware was provided for oven use. The bed was comfortable, and the TV had decent satellite service. The building itself was relatively quiet, although note that noise carries easily between rooms. ||The inn is located very close to Dillingham High School and the local UAF campus, and is a decent choice if you must stay in town.

We stayed here two nights after our five week canoe trip.||The manager and her husband are kind, wonderful people. They went out of their way to help us, and befriend us. They picked us up at the small boat harbor with all are canoe gear and brought us to the Inn, they drove us to the post office to mail our stuff back home, and they drove us to the Airport for our flight home. ||||Our room was a strange, tiny room in the basement by the boiler room in the rear of the main building. It did have a small refrigerator, two hot plates, a microwave oven and cooking and eating equipment, a shower, a toilet and one sink, and a small satellite TV with lots of channels. The bed was a small single bed. It was amazing that every thing could be crammed in such a tiny space. The fit and finish of the room was typical Bush Alaska i.e. not quite finished, semi falling apart . ||They have free cloth washing and drying machines available for guests. They provide a nice free breakfast, with of dry cereal, juice or fruit, hot drinks and waffels .||||The price was very reasonable for bush Alaska. I would not recommend the room we stayed in, next time I would spring for a larger unit,|||| The Inn is in a quiet location a few minutes walk from all the action in the town, i.e. library, tour of cannery, super markets, a restaurant.||||Most of the restaurants in the town have gone out of business, including the restaurant that was located at the Thai Inn. The best bet is to buy food at one of the two markets and get take out or cook it your self. We ate one meal at a very overpriced pizza/hamburger place by the boat harbor.||||We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Dillingham.||||If you have time, the free 1 1/2 hour tour of the Peter Pan fish Cannery is fascinating, Also the town has a nice library with a great Eskimo Museum. We spent about five hours there looking at the movies and DVD's

Wonderful stay. Seems to be in the process of re-naming to the Bear Paw Inn. The family that owns it says they've been doing some remodeling and their work shows, the parts they've finished look nice. Stayed in the "Black Bear Suite" which is basically a studio apartment, a large single room with a queen bed, TV, kitchen table, full-size refrigerator, oven/range for cooking, good size kitchen counter, sink, and an assortment of pots, pans, and dishes. The family who runs the place were wonderful to work with. WiFi worked well.
