We stayed at Silver Fin Lakefront in July of 2024 for a week and LOVED IT!!|In fact, we returned in September of 2024 for a second week. The location is AMAZING, spectacular views of the lake and the mountains. |The hosts are absolutely wonderful!|Our cabin was clean and so comfortable.|We had our children and four-year-old grandson. |We will be back for sure!|John and Lisa and family

This is undoubtedly one of the best places that I have stayed in rural Alaska at a very reasonable price. The owner, Cherol, is extremely helpful and has a very long family history in the area so she is a wealth of information and fascinating local stories. The room that I stayed in was nice and clean with a superb view looking to the northwest up Lake Aleknagik. I was invited to join the family in the evening when they enjoyed a fire and a nice sunset. Breakfast was also a family affair since only 2 other guests were there.

I can’t say enough about this quaint bed and breakfast. Not only is the location ideal being on the lake which is surrounded by Alaska’s breathtaking mountains but the owners are so personable you feel as if you are at home with your family. They are all so accommodating of your schedules and needs. The owner, sherol, made wonderful arrangements for us to take a boat tour with Rob from Bear Claw Lodge to see several of the nearby lakes and connecting rivers where we saw a lot of wildlife. She also arranged a trip to Katmai via float plane with an exceptional pilot, mark from Wood Tikchik guides. She also planned a fishing excursion with a laid back guide, Doug from Bear Claw as well. He did a great job putting us on some nice sized rainbows, Arctic char and grayling. She had the guides all pick us up at her bed and breakfast so it was hassle free! We met a lot of her family members who were very kindhearted and all “upstream” individuals!!! Her stories of her grandparents and family members and other stories of individuals in the area were all entertaining and educational as well as hilarious. Her story telling skills are delightful and we wanted to continue to hear more as she was so animated! The food was very easy going down and we looked forward to each meal! If you are lucky enough to come to Dillingham, you will enjoy this warm and inviting place full of eclectic character!

We stayed at the Silver Fin B&B for one night prior to a fishing camp. It is about a :30 minute drive out of Dillingham. Very easy to find. We were greeted by Sherol. After getting settled we were offered a King salmon (caught the day before) dinner. It was far better than the salami and chips we had planned to eat! Sherol told us about the area and her family’s part of the local history. The room and bathroom were large and comfortable. The bed was the best we would have for the next week! After renting a car, I was informed that the floatplane could pick us up at the Silver Fin. Sherol was kind enough to arrange for the rental car to be returned to Dillingham for us. That was over-the-top service. While showing us around, Sherol pointed out some of the local berries. I mentioned my love for huckleberries and how Grandma used to make jam. In the morning, I was given a homemade jar of jam after breakfast. Very kind. It was a nice start to a grand adventure!

We tried something different for our conference and had it at the Silverfin. It was amazing. Sherol extended herself to make sure we had what we needed. Our members were well taken care of and we could focus on our work. I believe that it really allowed us to do better. Sherol is a traditional hostess who understands the value of accommodating people. It really is rare that you can stay with someone like her and get to know so much about the area. The food was fresh and wonderful. She is truly talented with baking. Cinnamon rolls wow!

The bed is so comfortable. My husband and I went on a work trip. Will definitely be back again with our kids for a mini vacation. The view was great. If we could give this place a 100 out of a 100 we would.

You can't ask for a more spectacular view out the window, better food, or warmer hospitality! Sherol is the consummate hostess who truly loves people. This is one of the finest bed-and-breakfast I've ever stayed in. I recommend a stay of as many nights as possible. We arrived late by float plane and she offered us a dinner in addition to her normal outstanding breakfasts. On top of that, she packed us a lunch for our outbound flight. One can't ask for better hospitality! Thank you Sherol!

This place was exceptional, and Sherol was even better! I wish I would have been able to stay longer. They were so accommodating and such great company. Super cozy, beautiful view, and delicious food! I can’t wait to bring my family back!
