Some nurses and doctors might be wonderful, others are downright mean. Overall the system of care here is broken.

We are deeply troubled by the inconsistent care my loved one is receiving for a collapsed lung.

The policy at this hospital is such that one cannot talk to the same doctor twice, as patients are passed off from one to the next nearly every day.

This sets up a low bar where no one takes responsibility for their work.

One of the doctors said “I hate to say this but they did this all wrong.”

We are talking about vital organs here.

We’re going on 8 days and 4 attempts at the same procedure, each one has failed, some of those failures because of negligence of care (failure to tape the tube, nurses hooking up to wrong pump).

Our loved one says the care feels haphazard and he feels like “an experiment.”

Apparently it wasn’t always like this (per a doctor, who hates this hospital for this very reason, by the way); the rotating docs is just another way to save money.

We are hoping yo transfer to Hartford asap, never to return to this hellscape.

Shame on the powers that be who employed this absolutely nonsensical model of care.

Your hospital almost killed my grandfather today. Last time he was at your hospital he was admitted for very intense chest pain to the point where he thought he was having a heart attack. His blood count was 7 so you gave him a blood transfusion like his cardiologist TOLD YOU TO DO. Fast forward to this week’s visit. Last night your head nurse came in to start her shift. When my grandfather explained to her, he was having tremendous chest pain, her words were “I do not care about that. I am looking at your chart to see what I need to do for you”. Not only did she not listen to him, they also did not provide his nitro and long lasting insulin. THEN you proceed to discharge my grandfather TODAY 1/04 with a blood count of 7 after explaining to us, HIS FAMILY, last time we were there, how important it is for him to get a blood transfusion otherwise he can have a heart attack or other complications. So my question is why are you not looking back at patient history to see how you have solved the problem before? Now my grandfather was rushed to Waterbury hospital after you neglected him. Hopefully they can fix your mistakes. My grandfather has had 16 stents in his heart, when he says he is having chest pain he knows what he is talking about. When he says he needs a blood transfusion HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT. Learn how to take pride in your job put your ego to the side.

Absolute worst hospital. Never go here. I had three visits for the same issue - the first time the doctor completely minimized my issue and was discriminatory and dismissive. His advice was neither accurate or sufficient - clearly negligence. Second visit was three weeks later where there wasn't even a doctor who bothered to see me in person. The PA gave me bad information and wrong information, was cruel and sneering. I came back the next day, and the nurse on duty was equally horrible to the point that I felt afraid to leave my room to go to the bathroom because several of the staff were so abusive. After three visits I still have no information on how to treat my condition, and not only that- the paperwork they sent me home with had the wrong information attached, misdiagnosing the issue and giving wrong and harmful advice. This is the worst hospital in America. Go anywhere else.

Terrible experience in the ER. My husband had severe pain to the point of not being able to talk. Went in late maybe 10 or 11. They put us in a room relatively quickly and it went downhill from there. They did nothing to treat him. I had to go find the the front desk staff multiple times to see what was going on. We were just ignored for hours until I realized it was getting light out and there were no other patients getting treated in the rooms or anyone in the waiting room. At that point I told the desk to discharge him so I could take him somewhere and that I would be filing a complaint. That’s what it took for them to finally give him a scan. Turns out he had a severe infection.

Long wait times. Most of the doctors are completely underprepared or uncaring. No bedside manner by many individuals. They never have enough rooms. If you need to go don’t come here on the weekend.

Every single person I had contact with starting from admissions to getting my blood drawn, admitted to the surgery, made me feel like family I never ever saw an attitude or an unhappy face. All I saw were smiles and cheery greetings. I have two nurses to begin with Alex and Kelly. I swear they walk on water not only were they good at their job, but they made me feel like Iwas so important. The morning shift, afternoon shift, and the Night Shift we’re all angels sent from heaven they tended to every need. I did not have to ask for anything they had already supplied it I cannot forget my doctor nor the anesthesiologist or anyone else that was working with the doctor I cannot believe what great hands I was in as far as I’m concerned. these people make Charlotte Hungerford Hospital A+. It’s all about the staff. It’s all about the doctors nurses, cafeteria workers and the ones who changed the garbage pail. I’ve never been in a place where everyone was so cheerful and had sincere smiles on their face. I was in the best place with the best people. I hope they are all treated well because they deserve it. My opinion, they deserve a little extra. Maybe something a little extra just to let them know that they are the ones that make this hospital great. God forbid you ever lose even one of them

Worst place I have ever been too. If you like waiting 3 hours especially when I have a toddler that’s waiting to be seen crying like crazy. Doctor barely checked him out was in a rush, nurses are nice but they definitely need more staff on or something. 10 people sitting in a room just talking, while they could be doing other things
