If i could give no stars i would. We have taken this ferry 3 times this year and each time the ferry was NEVER on time or randomly cancelled. It is far from reliable. We showed up with a 9:30 reservation that we were allowed to book on the website. We showed up at 9 and were told that the boat just left and that there was no longer a 9:30 and the next boat would be at 10:30. We get on the boat at 10:30 and do not leave till 10:45. Food is mediocre for a unreasonable price. Everything is just in a warmer. New London always had fresh hot food made to order.

You are better off driving around. New London Ferry would never pull this crap. Bridgeport Ferry needs to take some notes on how New London operates. We will never be using the bridegport ferry again.

Pros: The ride on the ferry was very nice in 8/24/2024.
Cons:no employees to work the food area. Only one employee and she was the cashier, the order taker and the cook? What?!?! Then to keep the little bit of food warm, the food case was not working the drink case was not cold. Water hot and juice and then had milk in the case😑
At night the deck was so dark!!! People use their lights on their phones. The deck needs to be lit at dark.

The money you charge, you should have a full staff to caters to the people when they want to eat. One person!?!🀬 but the BAR is well staff. I can get drunk and jump ship if you want. I will advise everyone to do day trips because at night there is no lights. Bring your own food and soda
and water in your cooler. At least you know you cooked it and it’s hot or cold. All these years this ferry been around and you cannot make it presentable to be more welcoming to want to enjoy the weather on the deck at night. Hire people with a good hourly pay to work.

Definitely a MUST, rain or shine. Food is great mix of burgers, fries, salads, snacks, coffee, sodas. Bar service in the front of the boat has THE BEST Bloody Mary's. Boat is kept spotless as well, very organized on/off process for cars as well as walk-on passengers.

We drove up to CT from LI and the traffic on the Southbound 95 was backed up. We decided to tske the ferry back and go against traffic from Suffolk to Nassau. What an amazingly calm experience! The ferry was on time. They got the cars on and off in a fair amount of time and the water was relaxing.

It’s expensive, but the views, and the bar, abs being able to escape the nyc traffic it’s well worth it! $70 for me and my Tacoma.

I have been taking this ferry for 6+ years. The workers who guide you into and out of the boat are often quite hostile. The worst of them act like a miserable cop you might unfortunately come upon, who act like they might arrest you if you do something they don't like. They are very emotional, becoming angry in a split second, gesticulating wildly with their arms to park a certain way. Last week I saw one man scream at a woman. They get away with it because most of these people act the same.

Taking the ferry is a great way to travel from NY to CT , Bring your car or ride as walk on. Cost affective, great scenery and plenty of space to sit.
