We took a self guided tour through the museum. The person on staff was friendly and interactive with the children in the group. I can't remember her name, but she was knowledgeable and provided a welcoming environment. It was about an hour before the park closed, so some exhibits were closed. On our next trip to Alaska I will try to tour the river boat exhibit. This is a free museum/park. There are shops where you can purchase items as well.

A nice museum in Fairbanks located right within Pioneer Park. Free entry with a recommended donation. Jenny was working and she’s a real gem. Her bright energy was refreshing and her knowledge and enthusiasm about the content of the museum was evident!

This is a great volunteer run local museum with many artifacts. Admission is by donation. It is not a good museum for small children as many of the items are not behind glass cases and could be damaged by inquisitive kids. However, if your children are older (8+) or just adults are visiting, I highly recommend it. There are sections on gold mining, communication, farming, clothing, etc. If you are interested in what life in Alaska was like in the early 1900s, this is the place to visit.

Great little museum focused on the early days of the fairbanks area. I wish more of the building were open when we stopped.
