We had a very positive experience here! We were a little hesitant when we drove up and it looked like an empty parking lot, but it ended up being such a huge property! It was well worth the $19/adults and $15/kids. We got one bucket of food and that fed all of the animals we wanted to feed. We ended up spending almost 3 hours there with two preteens. We all loved it, I almost think the adults loved it more than the kids 😅. The animals all looked well cared for and many were very friendly and happy to see people. If you care about/enjoy animals, you'll love it here. The camels are the absolute sweetest and so friendly. The zebras and goats were too!
The goats, zebras, emus and Rhea all definitely enjoyed the food the most. So did the sheep.
The elk were so majestic and beautiful.
Great experience. We drove almost 2 hours to come here and it was worth it 100%.
Would definitely go back.

Thanks for taking care of these animals!

Me and my wife went to the Halloween scare fest thing they had, and it was honestly one of the best ones I've been to in years!!! It's very funny and scary at the same time!!! We've also been to the wildlife attraction they have as well, and that is a blast to!! The kids had a great time that day, and we definitely plan on coming back next year!!!

Very fun experience! We purchased 1 bucket of food but wished we bought more because it goes pretty quickly. There’s a path you can either drive (and stop to park whenever you want to see and feed the animals) or walk. Along the path, there is a petting zoo building. There’s also a drive-through safari. Our favorite animals we saw were the baby red kangaroos, zonkey, dromedaries, and zebras. Went on a Saturday afternoon, purchased tickets when we arrived, and it wasn’t too crowded.

This was a really cool experience! I’m not sure why people are complaining about the price, it’s really not that bad especially with the state of the economy and the money goes back into the animals which is evident. It’s clear that the animals are taken care of and have plenty of space which you don’t always see with zoos. They have a surprisingly wide variety of animals and it was cool how close you could actually get to them! My favorite was definitely the baby capybara. It was a pretty good size too. We chose to walk and we were there for a couple hours. I would 100% go back!

One of the highlights was the opportunity to get up close with some of the animals. The interactive exhibits and feeding sessions were educational and fun for kids and adults. It’s a perfect blend of adventure and learning, making it an ideal outing for families.
The conservation efforts of the foundation are commendable. They are not just a zoo but a sanctuary committed to wildlife preservation and education. Their programs raise awareness about protecting endangered species and preserving their natural habitats.
Overall, the Action Wildlife Foundation is a fantastic place to visit. It's an educational and exciting experience that leaves you with a deeper appreciation for wildlife. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and enlightening day out. Five stars all the way!

We had an amazing experience at Action Wildlife! My mother and I came for a day trip, arrived at opening and we got great parking. Ticket prices are fair at $17 for adults and $8 for a container of grain to feed the animals. There is a spot in the petting zoo to refill your bucket. The animals are out and about and the petting zoo is perfect for kids and adults. We loved being able to feed the zebras!

A wonderful hidden gem in Connecticut. It’s a drive from most places but you can bring a picnic and make a morning of it.
The park is open limited hours- so make sure you check the website. It is seasonal and mostly open only on the weekends. The prices have gone up since we were last year several years ago. However what hasn’t?!
You pay at the gate. They take cards. You can buy a grain container. Definitely get one at least. After entering, you can walk or drive. You follow the path. There are plenty of activities for kids along the way- a large sand box, a petting zoo.

There is plenty to see and no rush. Take your time and plenty of photo opportunities.

There are several picnic areas to spread out and enjoy the beautiful, idyllic atmosphere.

There is a museum which is a “not to miss”. It is huge and has a large collection of animals that you can see up close. Rivals any of the large natural history museums and you get to see the animals up close. I was fascinated to learn that the animals were prepared by a taxidermist who lives right there in Torrington. Fabulous work. Pictures don’t do the museum justice. Definitely check it out.

There is artwork all over the park now- beautifully painted rocks all over. Very well done!

This is a wonderful hidden gem to spend a morning. It’s wonderful for kids of all ages. 🙂
