Went here on a recent vacation. We were staying in Chena Hot Springs and decided to give it a try.

I wouldn’t say it’s easy but I made it up to the top and I’m not a walker let alone hiker. It is beautiful and peaceful and fun. We did not see any wildlife but I’m sure it saw us. There is a beaten up boardwalk about half way through and a bench to sit on so you can rest.

There is a trail you follow so I wouldn’t worry about getting lost. The picture is the easy part but most of it is a trail, not a path. There lots of mud and limbs and trees to maneuver over, some steep areas towards the top. Wear good shoes and if you’re not a hiker take a walking stick or grab a fallen branch like I did (I left it back towards the entrance for the next person).

The walk was almost three miles up and back but you can follow it all the way to the springs another 8 miles. I did not do that but an average hiker I think would be fine.

Overall not to be missed if you want a place to hike that isn’t as touristy as Chena but still a little touristy so you don’t think you’re gonna get lost forever.

Great hike with the family and rewarding views at the top. Hopping up around the rocks was a highlight for the kids. Beautiful fast flowing river at the beginning of the trail. Recommended if you have a few hours to spare and you're near Fairbanks.

Fantastic views and easy path! Great for Families even. Just need to watch your step as you travel the trail along the side of the beautiful river. Parking is $5 per vehicle per day. It is about an hour drive from Fairbanks and is the favorite trail of many locals.

A good place to hike and have a picnic by the river. I hiked this trail with my dog and had no problem . Nice place in the river to let my dog cool off. Close to chena hot springs

Wonderful trail with some steep sections but the views are well worth the effort. Make sure to dress appropriately for the never-ending mosquito party!

? Hiking at Angel Rocks ?

While we didn't make it all the way up, the trail was perfect for my first hiking experience in Alaska! Signage is good at the trailhead, but as you explore, it's not quite as clearly marked. Next time I'll bring my trekking poles so I can fully enjoy the top.

A really great trail to explore. The parking area is right off Chena Hot Springs Rd. There was plenty of parking. It's a 5 dollar fee at a self paying station. The trail starts off walking along the river. Then comes to a boardwalk that starts your climb up the mountain. Everytime you think your at the top of the rocks you see more. You'll know your at the top after you go through a small cave of rocks. The views are spectacular. Especially in early to mid September when the leaves are changing colors.
