Tristan O'Donoghue was very unhelpful when I tried to join my friend and classmate on the ice fishing trip. He provided very unclear feedback, stating, “the area where the group will be traveling is on borough parks land,” so I could technically attend, but he refused to add me as an official participant of the trip when I am an active University student. The trip capacity limit online stated that there was one spot left, and his instructions on why that was not the case were also unclear. I am from Florida where ice fishing is not physically possible, and I was very excited to go with my friend. I have a busy schedule and this could have been handled much better. This organization should be prioritizing the needs of students and more clearly stating capacity limits. If the additional spot available was an error, there should have been more lenience and acceptance of culpability as the error was made on their end. Very disappointed that as an active University student I will not be able to join this trip today. I am also fully vaccinated and have already provided proof of vaccination for other UAF courses this semester.
