A nice place in town where you can rent a room to host an event.

4.5 I attend the senior luncheon there every month. Yesterday it was hosted by the Intercultural Ministry Alliance. The food was catered and they had Delta Sigma Phi do a presentation on breast cancer awareness.
Last month I rented the multi-purpose room for my little girls birthday party. The price was reasonable and I love that we didn't have to share her birthday party space. We had plenty of time to set up and clean up. I got my deposit back without having to request it. It was direct deposited in my bank account a couple of days later.

Bummed!!!The price is right, the facilities are very nice and accommodating. Wheelchair accessible!

However, the very nice management, doesn't have the professional skills in place for smooth usage. We have used JP Jones 1-2 times a year. Never again. In the past 5 years there have been 3 problems with getting access to the facility. This past time, the facility was double booked. We show up and our room is full of people. Our 30+ people are out in the cold trying to figure out our next step. We were promised a refund of our $300+. Haven't seen it yet, and it has been over a month. Management needs to improve.

I booked this venue on March, 14th of this year for a college graduation party/graduate school acceptance party. Initially when I went to view the venue, Mike, whom I assume to be the owner/manager, was accommodating and friendly. Serena, an office administrator, was also helpful and friendly. However, the first hiccup occurred when I attempted to confirm that linens would be available for my event. Upon first meeting Mike, he assured me linens would be available for me to use. When confirming this information a few days before my event, Serena told me that she was unaware of where the linens were, and they could not be supplied to me and I should buy my own. I had already paid $364.50 to this venue, of which 125$ was a deposit. When I was told about the lack of linens by Serena, I expressed frustration and asked if Mike could be contacted to discuss this. She then made me aware that Mike was “out of town for a conference and was unable to be reached.” I again expressed frustration and later in the day, Serena did reach back out to let me know that she had “found the linens.” I found this to be a little odd since she made me aware that the linens were found in their linen closet. On the day of the event, I was able to set up/take down and conduct my event by being given a code to get into the building due to it being a Saturday and no staff were there. This was efficient and I felt as though the event itself went well! What was overall disappointing about this venue was the lack of communication and procedures or policies set in place being that the venue was somewhat costly. I was never given detailed instructions on how to clean up after the event just to “leave it how I found it.” Additionally, I was told that my deposit would be returned to my bank account within 7-15 business days. I had not yet seen this go into my account, so I reached out and spoke with Serena. She first told me that it had been refunded and at this point they could not help me, and I needed to reach out to Paypal/my bank account. After doing this, I got a call back from Serena stating that the refund never actually was issued, they then cut me a check that day. All and all, this is an okay venue with two friendly staff members. However, there are quite a few hiccups that presented themselves that were frustrating. I could not imagine having to deal with these minor issues if I would have planned a larger event here, such as a wedding reception. Consider this when booking this venue: you may have to do your own due diligence with the staff to ensure the fluidity of your event and monetary funds.

Not returned deposit from baby shower.
I call fraud unless refunds are done.
Fairbanks is a small town, we know scammers when they happen!
Update: Supposed to be under new management but is taking months to refund deposits. Rating will change when they get a handle on finances. Can't recommend them at this time. Form letter email sent out, so many are not getting clear communication.
UPDATE: 6-25-19 Deposit returned with extra and 50% off coupon. New owners are trying to work though backlog of paperwork from previous owner.

I think it's nice if them to offer free computer use. But the first day I tried to come and use the computers, I was told that the tech was not there and that I needed to be "monitored" in order to use use the computers. That's weird to me since they don't say that online. And anywhere else who has heard of being monitored during computer use?

I contacted the JP Jones Community Development Center last minute to book a room for a surprise party. I used Google to search for event venues in Fairbanks and that's how I found them. I was given prompt professional service by Makeesia. I couldn't have been happier with the location. If you need a venue for your event I highly recommend them! They had everything I needed there - tables, chairs, etc. I can't believe I didn't know about this location sooner. Please support the JPJCDC!!!

Needs repair and attention. Can't use a credit card to book cause it went down before Christmas 3 months ago and they haven't gotten it fixed. Management doesn't know answers when asked questions. Needs someone working there that cares.
