This is a very reliable restaurant with consistently very good food. I love that that menu periodically changes with different global cuisines. The lamb lollipops were my favorite tonight. The mussels and truffle honey Brussel sprouts were also very good.

Café Routier is an upscale restaurant that absolutely always delivers the best quality. The menu, changing seasonally, is consistently delightful. While moderately expensive, this restaurant embodies the idea of "you get what you pay for" and is hands-down a must visit at least once while in the area.

Every time I have dined here, I have tried something new, and every time, I am more than pleased.

From the ambiance to the delectable dishes, Café Routier is easily the most impressive place to enjoy dinner on the shoreline.

Not to mention, with a wide selection of wine and a fully stocked bar, you will be hard pressed to find a drink that does not pair with whatever you order.

A great pick for a date night or just a fancy evening. 10/10 without fail.

This gem is about an hour away from my area but my friend and I decided to finally make the trip and give them a try. Boy, did they deliver!

The restaurant has a very intimate feel, perfect for a date or a small gathering of friends. It has a dining area as well as a lounge, with smaller tables and a bar. Our waiter, Dan, was knowledgeable and courteous and the bussers were continuously checking tables, making sure there was plenty of bread and water for all guests.

We started our experience with a couple of Malibu Bay Breeze drinks and enjoyed two appetizers: shrimp and grits and the fried Thai calamari. The bacon cream for the shrimp and grits was to die for and the fried Thai calamari had a nice kick to it. Both were amazing!

We continued our meal with delicious entrees. My friend had the grilled hanger steak and I had a special: roasted free range chicken. The hanger steak came with a warm Roquefort cheesecake my friend loved! My chicken was perfectly cooked and it came with wild mushroom, pancetta & fava bean hash, spring pea & wild ramp pureé, lemon and honey-thyme glaze. Both dishes were scrumptious and very filling.

It was hard to add anything to this satisfying meal but we left room for dessert and enjoyed three masterpieces: a key lime cheesecake, vanilla bean crème brulee and turtle cake. All three were delicious but the key lime cheesecake was especially yummy.

The ambience, service and quality of the food at Cafe Routier will make you a frequent visitor. We will definitely be back.

Special thanks to Chef Gese Rodriguez for his attention to detail and passion for his craft.

Not nearly what we expected. In the past, we have enjoyed many beautifully prepared meals. Brought friends Saturday night and hope their meals were better than mine. Ordered the oxtail, not braised tender. Was tough. Amateur like preparation, something was very wrong. Try them again some day, hope this was just an off night. Good service, sad food.

Such a great meal at the bar and Albert creates fantastic martinis. We had the bouillabaisse which was cooked to perfection, mussels, house made fries with a traditional French aioli and a fabulous Endive and Arugula salad. While the restaurant has been here a very long time, this was our first visit. We’ll be back!

We have been going to this establishment for 27 years since it opened in its first location in OS. It has always been good and still is. This time we ate in the bar on a summer Friday at 5:30 pm and loved it. Great banquette table. Cocktails were great, as were fish entrees. I has halibut, a bit too much time under the broiler, and the sauce could be more corn flavor, but overall very good. Husband’s flounder was good too. Profiteroles were yummy! Service was excellent. Terrific atmosphere. Crowd was couples over 50.

Café Routier offers a very nice fine dining atmosphere. If you're looking for decadent dishes paired with a wide selection of wines, then this is the spot for you. Service is great and food is even better. Also make sure you pace yourself because you don't want to pass up on the desserts.
