Such a beautiful abandoned amusement park to walk through. There is also a little parking area for this spot, but it is around the corner from the actual suburban sign where it is posted. You will see some ruins of the old stuff that used to be back there. Also you can cross over and view a cemetery as well as crossing and viewing a stream that will run through the trail. Definitely a great history hike if you are into those. It is an abandoned site but a beautiful one check out

An old amusement park? I had to check this place out. I found parking at the Lions Club Memorial Park; a trail leads to this park which is next door. I used the AllTrails app to follow the trails within this park.

During 1895 to 1905, there was an amusement park there. The park is in Unionville which is part of Farmington. It's on 20.5-acres with many walking trails; some were hilly inclines but it wasn't too bad. I can hear the traffic from the street at some parts of the trail. I saw signage and some remnants of the amusement park. The fountain was most notable since the rock structure was still there with a couple of benches; apparently, it's the first electrical fountain in that time period. As I continued walking, there was a sign showing where the carousel was but there was no structure there. There were remnants of a dance hall; as well as an ice cream parlor and cafe, some I can see some I couldn't. The signage helped with information regarding where these were. I can picture people enjoying this park back in the day; some ghostly feels for sure. Overall, a decent park to take a walk in!

Lots of fun finding the remains of the old buildings. Great explanatory signage. The pup especially loved "discovering" the brook. Breathtaking view from the top of Hillside Cemetery. Good exercise but not strenuous.

9.18.22 Small parking area but this place isn't really busy. I always get lost so having the AllTrails App is handy. This was a very quiet and peaceful, easy hiking/walking trail. It used to be an amusement park many years ago so you'll see various remnants along the way.

The remnants of a 100+ year old recreation venue made for a nice afternoon activity. Use your imagination and the history is there! So many beautiful stones for rockhounds! Beautiful water feature with a very convenient sitting rock. The terrain can be steep; mixed with pine needles, dried leaves and loose rock makes for optional exercise/treacherousness depending on your pace. Impossible to get lost on the trails. Parking situation is unclear: I parked at the Indian farmers market.

History has left it's mark here. As an old amusement park, there are still foundations, metal scraps, and signs of where structures used to be. Its all pretty cool to imagine what it used to look like. The size of This place is perfect for an evening stroll, with moderate inclines and benches to rest. There's a path to walk by what feels like a magical river, and multiple landmarks where glaciers had created craters between small hills. This place is truly unique and feels so mystical. Please note that there are lady slippers (the pink flowers in the pictures below) growing in an area here. Do NOT pick them! They don't grow back so they are quite uncommon to find because of their sensitive nature.

The trails were kept up nicely and there were some signs telling you different locations of things when the park was open. I read about this place on a places to visit in CT page and it looked really awesome. (There was an informational sign for a carousel.. but no carousel). Quite underwhelming if youre looking for old amusement park stuff but it was a good hike overall.

I liked the signs that were placed as well but it was still confusing to navigate. The informational signs that were there, were only at some of the locations and the signs on the trees didn't direct you to everything that there is to look at there (which isn't a lot).

Fun little trails that loop around the property. Couple little hills that can be tricky with fallen leaves. Great little hike for kids around 7+. A little disappointed their weren't old ruins of an amusement park, but still cool.
