I needed antibiotics, BP meds and pain killers to just function, possibly to prevent death, but Windham Hospital refused to provide them for longer than a day unless I stayed in-patient, which was not necessary for any other reason.
I did not have a primary care doctor at that time, I had over a month until I could see a new one. Furthermore, antibiotics were needed to suppress an infection in a molar that threatened to necrotize my jaw bone. Getting that tooth extracted also required a long wait. Windham refused to even refer me directly to a specialist for high blood pressure, despite my BP being deadly high.
The fact that Backus Hospital in Norwich had no problem prescribing the meds I needed to hold me over, and also had no issue referring me to specialists proves there is no law or regulation that prevented Windham from doing so.
Instead of simply providing me with what even they said I needed, Windham Hospital wasted my time and money for nothing.
Their incompetence delayed me getting proper treatment for weeks, causing me great physical and emotional pain. Months of my life wasted, hundreds of dollars down the drain. For nothing.
The delay in treatment also impacted my performance at my job, costing me a promotion into upper management!!! It was like being robbed twice, first from their bill and then of my opportunity to advance.

Don't go to Windham Hospital.

I wish I could leave zero stats. My husband was brought in by ambulance from a program in town by himself. I tried calling him for hours because I didn't know where he was and then his phone was turned off. I just happened to call the hospital and was told he was in the ER. When I arrived I asked why no one called his emergency contact that he h had to fill out before at the hospital and the doctor that saw him said that he was an adult and they would only call a contact"for a minor". Them why are we asked to fill it out of you will never call it? Does he have to be in a come or doing first? zI asked about his discharge plans and was told to read the summary he was given because it would explain who was picking him up in the morning, except none of this was in the discharge summary. When I called the ER for info I was given the name of a different agency that would be contacting him. I was contacting that evening, but not by who I was told was going to call and no one was picking him up in the morning. Glad I didn't wait for that ride. I hope none of the staff ever have their spouse taken by ambulance to a hospital where they aren't capable of making a phone call because I guess emergency contacts mean nothing in reality. Worst hospital ever. Wouldn't go there for a bloody nose!

A Hospital filled with interns and fleas.

I've gone to the ER 4 times this year with a bacterial infection in my sinuses and Periorbital cellulitis that swelled my eye.

The staff acted like I was fine and gave me an antibiotic that did nothing. Had to go to another hospital so I wouldn't lose my eye shut.

The last 2 times I went, I was bitten by fleas waiting for a doctor to misdiagnos me.

And don't even get me started on the prison that is the suicide hall. They stick you in a broom closet at the end of the world and ignore you for hours.

When you ask for something to eat or drink they say they have to wait for someone to cover them when the drink fountain is literally 4 feet from where they sit all day playing on their phone while you rot in a broom closet with absolutely nothing to do but actually turn crazy from isolation and boredom.

I just had a bad experience at this place in the emergency room. Nurse left the room and said a comment really loud about me and laughing with the other nurses about why I came here. I'm sorry I dont think it's funny when someone comes into the ER in pain .Not professional and the nurses name was Brenda. Very disappointed in this hospital today. And she was asking really condescending questions like I'm here for a reason. I'm really mad about the whole situation.
