Had the best time! Well organized adventures with rustic accommodations was just what we needed!!! Ocean and river fishing was incredible…with fun knowledge guides and all fishing gear included!!! Great food with nothing to worry about…just relax and enjoy!!!
Saw bears on nine-mile road and beautiful scenery all around…what more could you ask for!!! Couple of pinball machines might be fun (only for extreme rainy days)!

Had a great time here. The owners and staff took great care of us while staying. The dinners were awesome every night. Chef cooked our catch of the day to perfection. Shout out to Captain Brad for putting us on the big ones out at sea and my guide Aaron, who took me on a pretty epic day on the river catching Steelhead. I'll definitely be booking another trip for sure. They do book up early, FYI

My husband and I went up to Alaska for the first time ever the first week of June and stayed at Glacier Bear Lodge. The staff is so friendly and customer service was top notch. The food at the on sight restaurant was delicious and fresh. My husband and I do not fish frequently so my expectations were low. Didn’t matter because the boat captain and river guide were very experienced and knowledgeable. We came home with loads of fish (halibut, long cod, rock fish, and sockeye salmon)! Words could never properly describe how just beautiful Alaska is. If you ever have the chance to stay in Yakutat, make sure you stay at Glacier Bear Lodge! It is the perfect location. We walked the beautiful beach, lakeshore, and surrounding forest, saw a variety of wildlife including beavers, bald eagles, bear, and moose, and icebergs on Harlequin Lake. Thank you, Glacier Bear Lodge for the wonderful adventure!

This place is pretty good. The bed is comfy and it has a bath. I had some issues with the microwave but it worked and the room was nice. My only mark is that there was a noticable inward lump in my ceiling, likely water damage. There is also close to no wifi, the only wifi is in the lobby and is still sparse. Theur is an resteraunt and bar in the hotel as well. The reason this review is 4 stars instead of 2 is because of this hotels amazing breakfast. From 5am - 8am its quite an early bird meal but very much worth it. The lancakes, eggs, and bacon all taste very good and I could not even finish my plates before I got full. I highly reccomend this breakfast as a way to start your morning in Yakutat.

We have been coming here for about 25 years now. The new ownership did a fantastic job. Very organized, friendly, everything ran very smoothly. Rooms are good, food is great the processing was great as well. With your food and processing fees included it really makes for an easy trip of 12 anglers. We will be back in 2026!!

If I had to pick one word to describe this trip it would be "Incredible"
My friend Tap has been trying to get me there for 10 years, finally our schedules worked out. Everything he told me about Glacier Bear Lodge was an understatement !!!
Starting with the owners, Kent, Scott and Jody who really want this to be the best fishing trip you've ever had (Success). If you need anything, like waders or boots, all you have to do is ask.
All the employees go out of their way to make your stay Incredible. The food, breakfast, lunch and dinner which is all included was top notch and generous, I must have gained 5 lbs.
After you catch all the fish you want in the rivers or ocean, the fish cleaners will clean, freeze and box your fish to take home, also included.
The sockeye fishing was on a whole different level than anything I have ever experienced, the fishing was Incredible, everyone had a blast. The ocean fishing was good but not great because of the weather, we did get a nice 97 lb Halibut and a few nice ling cod. Also the wildlife viewing was a great bonus, otters, moose, bears and bald eagles that love fish eggs.

Had a great time with glacier bear lodge. The fish here are sizable. The food was good. Also want to thank Mike and Aron for a awesome time on the river. I also want to give a shout out to captain Gene. He is dedicated and definitely try’s super hard to put fish on the boat. Look forward to fishing with him in the future. My friend and I had a great time and caught a nice variety of fish - salmon, halibut, rock fish, lings and dolly's on both fly and spin. It was fun fishing with the GB guides, seeing wildlife and enjoying the scenery. Well run, good food and good people.
