I was in Philly for a bachelorette party and my group took the Badass Women’s History Tour. The forecast said it was going to rain and did it ever! Joey, our tour guide, was so accommodating and did his best to keep us under shelter or inside during the tour. He was informative and made the tour fun and engaging. This was my first time to Philly and I was amazed by the diverse group of women that made this town what it is today. Thank you Joey for being a great tour guide and humoring our group by wearing your matching “Votes For Women” sash!!

My friends and I loved the Badass Women tour! Joey was engaging, informative, and had great anecdotal content to share that brought the women to life. Our group was well versed in history and in women’s history, we have all also spent decades in the Philadelphia region and in the city, yet most of the historical figures were unknown to us prior to this tour. It was a fun and educational experience!

Beyond the Bell Tours is doing amazing work. Whenever I have friends visiting Philly, I bring them on one of their tours so that they can get a sense of the city and its rich history. Beyond the Bell Tours have also visited my class at Penn and provided classroom versions of their tours which have been well-received by students who come away inspired by the rich history of the city that is hard to find elsewhere.
