Because of the Covid 19 Pandemic we were trying to figure out what to do for my son's 18th birthday. So we decided to take him and his girlfriend kayaking on the Brandywine, since none of us had ever done that before. Wilderness Canoes staff was such a pleasure to work with from start to finish. My son and his girlfriend had the best time and we all want to go do this again. We will definitely be back.

Terrific friendly folks and top notch service. Canoes and kayaks are in excellent condition and transportation was perfectly timed and efficient. Highly recommended. We had a great time.

We had an absolute blast!!!!!!!! We went here for our anniversary and had so much fun! We did the 6 mile tour and thought it was the perfect amount of time. The staff was super nice and helpful. Betty-Lou was our driver. She's very down to earth, personable and really knows her way around the water. She gave us great tips on how to navigate the water and places to avoid (there was a storm recently with some trees down). We saw all tyoes of wild life from turtles and frogs to...EAGLES! How cool is that? We had such a wonderful time. We parked at Grotto's pizza as suggested on the website. If you do too, Wilderness is in the back of the shopping center to the left of Grotto's.

Bought 2 kayaks and a canoe from the retail side - they were incredibly nice to work with and super-attentive, including letting the kids sit in the boats and making sure everything would fit right once in the water. Prices were great - we wound up here because of low stock all over due to the Covid outdoor purchase rush, but will definitely be returning for our future boating needs. (Nice that Grotto was in walking distance too so our 50 minute trip was topped off with a few slices!) We can’t wait to get our new boats out on the water!

Pros: Kayaks and canoes were in good condition. Most of the staff were friendly.
Cons: People were smoking on the river. People were drinking alcohol on the river. People were lighting fireworks in the river. Driver on the bus was texting while driving. Driver was also speeding on the highway. The guy made a mistake with our reservation, he assumed that our group only paid for 13 boats when we actually paid for 15. He also had a very bad attitude toward us. This place really needs a better manager. If I could, I would give this place zero stars but unfortunately I can't.

Awesome experience, exactly what you would expect. Ignore the one and only bad review on here that rates individual behavior on the river rather than the actual company. Wilderness is great!

Great group of people helped us have a wonderful trip down the beautiful Brandywine river. Our whole family enjoyed it. Nice selection of canoes & kayaks too.
