We enjoyed our time on captain Randy’s boat, Randy knew a lot about the history and the places around the island as he was born and raised there. It made the experience more personal showing us all the places he had lived, swam and fished.
He put in extra effort to try and find some dolphins, and he eventually found some which made our kids very happy.
Thank you Randy for a great experience.

Captain Randy Birch is an exceptional guide who catered the tour to our specific interests. He led us to leaping manta rays, dolphins, and close views of the lighthouse. He taught us the difference between conch and whelk shells, about horseshoe crab molting, regaled us with old fashioned jokes, riddles, and spooky tales of sunken treasure. Capt. Birch even went far out of his way to take us close to the NASA rocket launch site for my son, the aspiring rocket scientist, and let my son steer the boat at a far out, safe location. The grand finale was a series of twists and turns at high speed around safety markers in the marsh. I suspect Captain Birch is one of only a few with the expertise to safely pull off these maneuvers.

10/10! Captain Randy was very knowledgeable, personable, and quite funny as well! Due to the size of the boat, it was a truly private experience which was very nice! HIGHLY recommend, and will likely do again! Randy knows all the spots to see lots of dolphins, ponies, and even told us about some sunken treasure!! Cool guy.

I just want to say I really enjoyed my visit. My first time in Virginia, my first time going there, read the books since I was a child. Honestly I am happy i experienced it with my two kids and husband... it was one of the greatest things I've done. I'd prefer this boat tour over anyone, Captain Randy was awesome sweet and very knowledgeable and was all about making the kids happy. I 1000% recommend this little boat tour and I appreciate every second of this ❤️. Couldn't be anymore please saw ponies saw eagle's nest and the light house and plenty more.

My girlfriend and I took Randy's tour and it was amazing, 11/10 recommend! We saw a whole herd of horses grazing by the beach, the lighthouse and cruised around the bay.
He will also give you the history of the island, share personal anecdotes and crack jokes that keeps the 2hr ride entertaining. Thank you Randy!

We took advantage of a beautiful spring day and took a boat trip around Chincoteague Island, Virginia. Captain Randy Birch of Chincoteague Island Adventures, took us in his 24-foot Carolina Skiff, along the shore of Assateague Island where we saw a bald eagle and its close by the shore. Close by, we saw a collection of “Chincoteague Ponies” and beached the boat to see the stallion “Riptide” looking over his mares and their young foals which were born this spring(I have attached a few photos). A lifelong ‘Teager, Randy offered a wealth of Chincoteague and Assateague history as he piloted the boat around the Island. If you are visiting Chincoteague Island or happen to be in the area, book a trip with Chincoteague Island Adventures, I am sure you will have an enjoyable time and will learn more than a few fun facts about Assateague and Chincoteague Islands.

We had a great time. Captain Randy was so knowledgeable and did everything he could to make sure we saw the wildlife. We were able to see the dolphins, an eagle and a few types of other birds. Captain Randy is a native and can share stories about the history of the island as well. I highly suggest booking a boat tour.

For over 30 years coming to Chincoteague we never took a boat tour… meeting Randy and talking to him through out this trip was an awesome experience that we wish we would of done sooner! You learn much more and feel relaxed and comfortable! Randy really makes you feel like you are a friend! I would highly recommend Chincoteague Island Adventures!
