Greatly disappointed is an understatement. Drove from Philly after seeing this on social media. Store opened at 1pm arrived around 2pm waited over 30 minutes to receive what looked like the day before leftovers. The soul bowl was a no. Mac and cheese hard, never had cabbage covered in red stuff, I thought it was bacon at first. Yams tasteless. Nothing about this food looks appetizing. Fries were good but that was the first thing done in my order and sat in the counter until everything else was completed. Cheese steak wrap (not pictured) was ok just dry. Fish nuggets some were hard some not and weren’t seasoned. If I had opened my food at the store I definitely would’ve asked for a refund.

So comforting, it put my whole family to sleep after eating. Upon entry to the restaurant I was greeted by the entire establishment, which was refreshing. I’m all for Soulfood. The wait was all of 30 mins, but how can you rush perfection? This is a restaurant not fast food. The owners were so friendly and dropping so many jewels. We chatted for quite a bit. I was so proud to see and meet the owners and just to congratulate them for their efforts. The atmosphere was just all around great energy. The time had flew right over my head. Everything was perfectly flavored. You could tell the food has been seasoned. I’m so mad we didn’t try a sauce. That’s the first thing I’m trying when I go back. We ordered chicken wings, mac and cheese, cabbage, yams, a soul bowl and of course a lemonade and a Iced Tea. Everything was amazing. The cabbage was everything. Like when I say she put her foot in it. She did. Let me reiterate this is Soulfood. Expect seasoning, it adds the “Soul” to “SoulFood”. I feel like this food dares to be different. AND IT’S WINNING. We will be returning.

Visited Restaurant with family members after sister suggested we try after traveling in the area. Liked the sign outside of restaurant letting you know items sold inside, ordered soul bowl with candied yams, cabbage, mac n cheese with 2 boneless chicken wings. Waited about 20 mins for food. Taste was nothing fancy. Walked to bathroom while waiting for food.. smelled like a sewage back up walking pass a room near bathroom. Only one bathroom was available. Bathroom floor sticky. After visiting bathroom was turned off with restaurant and ready to go. Sister brought and like deviled egg crab salad. Nephew tried chicken sandwich with a sweet sauce said was ok but plain tasting.

Went in and grabbed just (3) small sides to balance out some catfish I fried for myself at home. I ordered a mac and cheese, yams, and cabbage. I was a bit skeptical to try anything else after reading the reviews. But it was late and I didn’t feel like preparing all of that. I now see why they got 3 stars. They charged me $19 for (3) small sides! The money wasn’t the issue. The Food was mad regular! It tasted like leftovers. No cap - I know Asians in Harlem that cook waaay better soul food than this place! Never again!

Wife & I tryed this place out and we enjoyed our service and food ! Came out hot and fresh and full of flavor, we definitely will be back soon. Wife had the cheesesteak roll, and green beans, I had the cheesesteak quesadilla & we shared the bourbon bbq chicken fries, Very tasty 😊 and very fulfilling. We also had the strawberry lemonade (homemade in house) VERY good !

I visited within 15 mins of the store opening on Saturday afternoon. Overall I'm leaning towards a slightly satisfied review. Customer service lacked hospitality. Which is key when serving others because you want people to feel welcomed and leave with a feeling to visit again, even if they are from out of town. You just never know who's coming in your store. Cleanliness is another important factor and when you walk into a place of eating. While I'm not eating off the floor, I do have walk on it and it was sticky and not clean. Then there's the food, which was good, some here and there factors could have made it over the top (JL Jupiter's video gave me those high expectations). I would go back if I was in the area but I wouldn't go out my way to visit again. Best of luck and thanks for the good food.

So Crystal's have been in my neighborhood for awhile but I'm jus getting to go there. Got fish sandwich, mac n cheese, cabbage. Son got bourbon chicken over fries, mac n cheese. Food was very good. Seasoned well. Good portions. Eat sum now eat sum later for both of us so price was worth it. Well went back a week later with my BFF and got two fish platters but he got yams and I got mac n cheese. This time Crystal was there and in walked Steve and 30 minutes later we came out of this delightful place with good food AND good conversation from the owners!! They were a delightful decent Black power couple and we totally enjoyed the banter!!! Food was even better my second visit and once again we both was able to get 2 meals out of our platters. Keep up the good work and I will definitely suggest Crystal's Comfort Food if ur looking for sum soulful eating!!

The service was friendly and excellent. Since it was my husband's first time there, the menu was explained to him, and he said the food was delicious. He ordered 12 wings with honey mustard sauce and fries. The wings were fried to perfection and they were big and tasty with the sauce. He was so glad that he made a visit there today!
