Totally uncrowded day. No lift lines, mountain is fine, not very steep. First time back in 25 years. If you just want to show up and ski, be prepared to walk and walk ..and walk. In your boots. Carrying all your gear. We used the closest drop-off spot and you still have to walk completely through Northstar village, past overpriced restaurants and clothing boutiques that aren't even open, carrying all your gear, and 20 minutes later you are finally at the slopes. After a day on the slopes, reverse the process. This doesn't include walking back to the drop-off spot after parking because the bus wasn't picking up from the lot THEY ushered me into, and was told it was better if I walked. Obviously they care more about making money off the village and cater to the people staying there because they've made it miserable for people arriving by car. Won't be going back.

Beautifully planned resort with all sorts of amenities. Multiple lodges to enjoy while you’re at the ski resort. Huge shoutout to the demo store for helping me demo the perfect board and on another visit lending me a screw after my toe piece binding came off!

This was a really fun trip! I went to Northstar for the day and it was really fun from the village with a movie theater to the skiing down the blues greens and blacks it think this place is very family friendly as there are no REALLY hard runs when skiing (no double blacks) but overall it is a very fun ski resort and I would recommend it.

This was the absolute worst experience I ever had. We booked 2 snowboarding lessons which were a significant amount for what we actually got. The people inside were nice and helpful however once we met the instructor it all went downhill. His name was Chris, he was rude and impatient. Made a comment that we were late, and he didn’t have time to go over the basics. We were only a couple of minutes late and had booked a half day lesson. His “tips” were not helpful at all. He had a condescending tone and looked bothered anytime I asked a question and met me with a short tone.

After I came down, early into a lesson, the staff inside apologized but did not look surprised when I made a comment that it was not an enjoyable experience and I did not learn anything. I never heard back from management. Biggest waste of money.

We love this place and try to come here every year. The rooms are very versatile and we have done single rooms to 5 bedrooms and they have all felt spacious and very accommodating. The north star village is like a picture. There is a small movie theater you can request and watch a private movie with popcorn. Ping pong tables and pool available. In the village there is fun ice skating, restaurants, and a gondola that goes up to the Ritz at the top of the mountain.
We come back every year because it's relaxing, there's plenty to do and it's not over crowded.

I like this resort for the great trails. They maintained trails well. I do not recommend skiing on Saturday because here will be so crowded.
Also, you can find some food (hot dogs, pizza, sweets, coffee).

Today, February 7th, at five in the afternoon, I went skating — my favorite après-ski activity. I’ve been doing this for the past ten years, and I’ve always loved Fridays with music.

However, I couldn’t believe how terrible the ice conditions were today. Where is the ice maintenance crew? Where is the supervision? It’s extremely concerning that the resort would allow people, especially small children, to struggle on ice full of crevices and bumps. This is a serious liability issue.

I strongly suggest that the staff responsible for maintaining the ice be sent to the nearest ice rinks to learn proper ice maintenance. Northstar has such a wonderful atmosphere, but today was a huge disappointment.

Skiing at Northstar is PHENOMENAL! Clearly the best slopes in the Tahoe area (I've been to 4 others). On a recent trip I had to drive an hour from my South Lake Tahoe hotel to Northstar, but it was well worth the drive to avoid the inferior South Lake Tahoe ski destination.
Hiccups recently in no hot food at lunch. See pic. No explanation and cashier wasn't sure if there was hot food at another location. Also, the s-l-o-w ski areas are not patrolled as well as I've seen at other resorts. Skiers go speeding by. Hopefully, they don't have more injuries due to this.
