Totally enjoyed our cruise. Very informative and low key all at the same time. The boat was clean and comfortable. We saw lots of wildlife and gorgeous scenery. The Captains were very entertaining and accommodating. We definitely recommend and take this tour again.

Great tour! Captain Joe and first mate Mike were very hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. We were lucky enough to see a dolphin and an alligator today. Captain Joe circled monkey island so that we could get a good look at the monkeys and their newly remodeled home. The unexpected trivia questions, jokes and oldies music, made it extra enjoyable!

My husband and I went on the Island Girl cruise this morning with a group we've joined through Facebook. We had a great fun filled two and a half hours with Mike and Captain John. Mike began the cruise with explaining the safety measures of the life jackets, if we would need them, which may seem mundane, but you really never know when you may need them so it was good to know. The remainder of the cruise was relaxing and all about fun. Mike has great energy and tells great stories, is full of information, and i learned so much. He and Captain John were both so friendly, kind and helped me get on and off the boat safely. We were all served a complimentary drink, which was nice, and and it was comforting to know there was a bathroom on the boat. We were allowed to move around freely on the boat as we took pictures. The scenery was beautiful. Captain John drove us around Monkey island twice and I got some great pictures of it. I loved seeing the birds,, turtles and learning about Manatees, though there weren't many out this morning. We had beautiful weather. Between Mike's stories, we heard music, which gave the cruise a nice balance. We've lived in Florida for 20 some years and i can't believe this is the first time we've done this. I seriously can't wait to go again! After the cruise we had a wonderful lunch at the Sawgrass Restaurant with great food. Thank you Mike and Captain John for a great day!

This is a must do tour down the beautiful Homosassa River. Captain Joe and Mike have so much knowledge and information that they share on their tour. I enjoyed the boat tour and absolutely highly recommend this.

Captain Mike and first mate Lorena gave us a fun and informative tour today. It was smooth sailing on their the first class pontoon equipped with a bathroom and sound system so that we could all hear the wealth of history, ecology, biology and antidotes they shared with us. March is a good time of year because there were lots of birds tending babies on their nests. The weather was cool the night before so there were lots of manatee near the springs. The trip was well worth the small price and I recommend it to visitors in the area.

What an excellent tour today. There were 6 of us in our group (2 live nearby - their 6th time on this tour). The weather was beautiful. Captain Michael and Janey were great hosts. They were so knowledgeable and very nice. They explained/showed us “old FL” and “new FL”, local hangouts, restaurants, and seafood markets. We saw lots of manatees even a mama/baby nursing, also a baby alligator, birds, and turtles. Also, one of my favorite sites was Monkey Island. Captain Michael circled around Monkey Island a couple times so everyone could get a better look at the monkeys and their own little island with their house. It was so cute. Also, we stopped at Manatee Pub and had drinks, which was a very cool old bar. It was such a fun time as they were terrific with the trivia questions, jokes and they had great oldies music. Also, the tour lasted about 2 1/2 hours. It was great! I would highly recommend this tour to everyone. We would definitely go again if we’re back in the area. Thank you, Captain Michael and Janey for a fun-filled tour.

We took the cruise with a group of friends after having lunch at Seagrass Waterfront, (very good restaurant). The boat is comfortable and stable even in choppy conditions. The captain is extremely capable and very knowledgeable and the 1st mate on our cruise is a state park wildlife expert.
I'm a wildlife photographer and the photo opportunities were many on our 2+ hour trip.
If you get the chance to do this cruise, by all means, take it and bring your friends and family! It's very informative both for the history of Halls River and for the flora and fauna. You'll likely see manatees, monkeys, many birds, local points of interest and much more. Highly recommend this cruise above all of the other I've taken on the Nature Coast!

We loved almost every aspect of this tour. The banter between the two hosts and the voyagers was fabulous. Lots of local stories about history, wildlife, conservation, and a lot of good humor thrown in as well. The tour went overtime and that was absolutely fine. The one thing we did not like was the "trip" to the Manatee Pub. This was a huge detractor, reminded us of some low end tours that we took in Europe, where on the tour you went to gift shoppes to "look " around. Other than that this was a 5 star event.
