Fabulous little place to stop and take a break and a picnic!!! Visitor center has all kinds of information and helpful people!!! Displays and pamphlets included!! And flush toilets inside!!!
Outside lots to see and trails to walk. Places to picnic, birds to watch!! Enjoy this beautiful place!

The visiting center is such a minoot attribute of this refuge. Although, it is necessary to visit if you're a tourist. The real beauty lies within the immense compounds of this paradise. However, as a local... if you are contemplating on visiting our beloved paradise. I beg of you not to behave like 98% of the "snowbirds" and other tourists that mistreat and abuse our sanctuaries. Be responsible for yourselves and those who travel with you. This Meaning, if you PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT! Don't be one of those unlawful and ungrateful hooligans that are TOO LAZY and ABSENT-MINDED to pick up after themselves. I, for one, am getting beyond sick and tired of picking up all the garbage and unspeakable waste that so many of you, for whatever reason, think it is okay to leave behind. STOP LITTERING ON OUR LANDS AND POLUTING OUR WATERS!!! HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR GODSAKES!!! Just because you are too simple-minded to understand the repercussions your actions have on Mother Nature and her Cherished Wildlife does NOT give you the right to treat it like a landfill.

Finally had the chance to take my kayak out here. It was spectacular! I was the only one on the river on the way up. The contrast of river and high bluff-like desert peaks is note-worthy, the bird activity is abundant and fun. The website says the river is 46 miles long, but I wonder if that is still accurate? I went a few miles up and it narrowed down quickly. Going back to try again, but earlier in the day!

Hi Gang, On my last trip to Lake Havasu I noticed a sign for Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center off 95 just past Parker Dam. It offers an amazing opportunity to stroll the mostly paved trail along a peninsula of lush foliage with the river on both sides and places to stop for some great photos. The Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge Visit Center is a great place to visit near Lake Havasu City. There is a short trail near the visitor center with picnic areas, fishing docks, and views of Lake Havasu and the surrounding landscape.

Really nice park, beautiful scenery. Really nice to see tags on the cacti, trees and shrubs to identify the species. A free entry also ,surprisingly very rare nowadays for a very well maintained park.

The Visitor Center is the first place to stop when checking out the Bill Williams River. The building has several displays, nothing fancy but nicely done. There are several brochures to pick up and use in the area.

There are several walking paths, one to the left (when facing the lake) is paved and leads to fishing piers (plus an unpaved area extends further out). Going in the other direction from the Visitor Center is a nature trail. Be sure to pick up the helpful guide to it. Various plants (mostly cacti) are identified along both trails.

Whether used as a kayak/canoe launching point or just a nice break during a drive, the Visitor Center area is definitely worth a stop.
