A wonderful privately owned motel. The owners have done a remarkable renovation. A lovely fountain at the office, a well kept exterior, rooms that are exceptionally clean & comfy. They take pride in their care & their customers satisfaction.

Check in is quick and all the staff are so friendly and accommodating. They all strive to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible. The rooms are very clean. The beds and pillows very comfortable. My only complaint is every time I stay the internet is very spotty. Up and down! Thus my reason for four stars. If the internet worked properly I would definitely give 5 stars. The Blue Gem Motel is just what the small town needs.

I was so thankful to come across the Blue Gem. Our soccer team was invited to play in some league games last minute in Gainesville and it happened to be homecoming weekend for University of Florida. As you can imagine, every hotel for miles was booked and the ones that were not were wanting $400 a night. While not their usual rate, we got a great deal at Blue Gem.

I have not stayed at a “motel” in probably 35 years but don’t let it completely deter you. It is an old hotel no doubt, but very nicely renovated and most of all incredibly clean! I love the retro vibe. Everyone working the desk and the owners were very welcoming and accommodating. I actually enjoyed staying in the quiet area of High Springs. It was quiet and safe and had everything we needed while being a short drive away from 75 and Gainesville.

Not the normal hotel we stay in when visiting the springs to dive but will definitely book again! The family room was perfect for us and the hotel was great for letting our gear dry. The only issue we had with the family room was no A/C in the bathroom..... Warm showers with the door closed = SAUNA! lol This will not deter us from staying on our future trips!

Passing through and this place had the best reviews. If you’re from the city you’ll be humbled real quick being it’s a motel and not a hotel. Our bed was comfy, the room was spacious and the water worked so nothing bad to say about that. I’m a big nerd checking with my phone flashlight everywhere I stay for bugs and didn’t find anything thankfully. The pavilion area is a cute touch to this place and both gentlemen at the front desk and a housekeeping lady I encountered were all friendly, we enjoyed our stay.

Nice, quiet, clean and friendly staff. Perfect for what I needed. Conveniently located and easily accessible. The room was huge and the bed was comfortable.

Came into town for a quick trip to the springs with friends. Stayed here prior to the new owners, and it kinda sketchy many years ago. I have to say, the new owners are doing it right. Rooms are remodeled, clean, cool AC, and the beds are comfortable. The pavilion area is a nice touch whether you have kids or not. Definitely would stay again.

We had a problem with our keys but the guy worked with us the whole time to solve it. He suggested using our phones instead of the key or fob, and that worked out perfectly.
The rooms are huge and clean. The beds and pillows are super comfortable.
The Pavillion in the middle was a great place for the entire extended family to gather and hang out together.
The coffee they supplied in the rooms was actually really good too!
We loved that the hotel was within walking distance of so many things as well.
