The hotel is very very nice. They are remodeling and we stayed in one of the remodeled rooms and it was absolutely 100% spotless. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean! Also, the tv gets so many channels, you can surf the web, and the size is perfect. I am very pleased with my stay and this will be my go to hotel! Another plus is the friendliness of the staff and the check in process was smooth and easy. They take cash for the deposit so that’s a PLUS PLUS. Yes they are in the process of remodeling so of course all the rooms aren’t finished but the ones that are finished , they did an amazing job with the updates!!!

It was a comfortable stay. There was construction going on but we were on the 3rd floor and didn't hear anything. The restaurant close called Alexander's was excellent and within walking distance. The only complaint was a baby crying til late but that unfortunately happens the door slamming was a little annoying too but that's other people staying there not the hotel's fault. Would stay again if and when in that area.

I apologize this was meant for the Sonesta Hotel in Schaumburg.

There was nothing wrong with the room but there was a party going on here that did not allow for proper sleep until about 5 AM in the morning. People kept walking and talking loudly in front of my room as there was a party almost directly upstairs from my room. Manager, (Paulo) promised a discounted rate for my next stay at the "managers rate" for the issue but then charged a rate that was $168/night (original rate was $128 w/taxes and fees included, for the same day, a Saturday). Manager offered $45 off each night which only made it $123/night. Not a great discount for my troubles. Manager refused to discuss the issue with me having the receptionist keep insisting "he was in a meeting." I refused the discount and moved on to a better location that wasn't trying to rip me off. Its a shame because I really enjoyed the room and the space. Sad their manager doesn't follow up with customers and doesn't follow through on making good with the clients as he promised. Won't be staying here again.

Update 2/24/2025: (Message for management per their response to original review). Multiple attempts were made to contact Sonesta Management (Paulo), No call back, no text, no email and Voicemail from Paulo. Bad management practices and lots of deflecting to not have to personally address this situation.

I booked through expedia for 2/8/2025 room 302 (Check out 2/9/2025) under Juan Valdivia (my name). Speak to Paulo and look at your phone records. I also have email correspondance confirming my booking and bank account information showing the hold that was placed on my card at time of check-in. Having no record of my stay? Thats funny to hear as I directly spoke to 2 other members of your team while attemping to get a hold of management (Paulo). One remembered my situation and another called and a Voicemail approving the so called "discount." They also checked my ID against the booking information. No record of my stay.... hilarious. So unporofessional.

I drive semi trucks for a living for 13 years now and stay at hotels across the country.
This one is rated on my top 5.
The young lady who works the desk in the daytime and the gentleman in the afternoon are the most courteous knowledgeable about their craft individuals.
If I had a business like this I would pay them more money just to leave and come with me to work for my company 😁
Also your housekeepers do outstanding work.
I've stayed here several times and the rooms are always delightfully immaculate.

What a dump! No breakfast offered. And worst of all, no hot water. Room phone non-operational. Had to use my mobile to call desk clerk that we had no hot water. We had to collect all of bags, come all the way down to get assigned a new room. Hopefully they have hot water. I'd never stay here again. The new room had hot water but no bathroom fan. Hair dryer didn't work either. I must say this is the absolute worst place I've ever stayed.

We booked the Sonesta as one of our block hotels for our wedding at The Haight.

The service and communication from them was 10/10. Violet was fantastic! They were flexible with our guest bookings and they made the shuttle booking SO easy for us and our guests.

They are under construction, which did result in some room issues. We greatly appreciated them allowing us to reserve their meeting room for free on the day of our wedding for the groomsmen to hang out in, and also on Sunday so we could say our goodbyes to guests.

The location was perfect and overall everyone had a great experience. I think without the construction this would be a 10/10 review for me!

Came here for a wedding. Everyone in the wedding party had issues with or getting into their rooms. Even though the room was rented in my name they wouldn't let me check in until the other groomsman I was sharing the room with got there and we both had to show our Driver's License. Found out they double booked our room when we walked into the room and found other people's property, food, trash, and underwear scattered about. The front deskman tried to blame us for the situation before assigning us another "newly renovated" room on the 2nd floor. Walked out of the elevator into a construction zone, one of the workers told us there were no rooms on this floor and to please go back downstairs. We went back to the front desk and said that we have a problem. The manager responded by saying "There's no need for that kinda attitude" and then told us the special route we had to take to get to the part of the second floor that wasn't under construction but not before again telling us that our attitude was out of line. We got into our room and found it half finished as there were holes in the walls, massive plaster dust in the ac/heater unit, gaps between the floor and wall, the door didn't lock properly, the tub couldn't be turned off, and the tub itself was a mess.

Additionally a few of the bridesmaids rented a room together and someone tried to break into their room during the night. When they asked the manager to look into it they were told that they imagined the whole situation and that the massive damage to their door was already there. The Groom ended up having to call the police to get the hotel staff to review their camera footage. Turns out a drunk man was indeed trying to break into their room and a few others. Nothing was done about it.

The police ended up having to come back later on as the morning of the wedding the groom went out to run a few quick errands and found a dead body in the street outside. The police were in the hotel for a while looking into the incident.

Bottom line don't stay here and be aware that apparently this is going to become a Best Western in near future. Hopefully they just rebuild the place from scratch and fire all the current staff.

Positive: Location Negative: The hotel was under some sorry of remodel. My room was ok at best. Toilet didn't flush, had to take off the cover and pull the chain. Curtains looked like they were 30 years old. Won't stay again.
