Location and Accessibility

The hotel’s location at 1806 Bittle Pl places it within a relatively accessible area. While Marion itself offers limited attractions, it serves as a convenient stopover point for travelers passing through Illinois. The proximity to major highways likely contributes to its appeal for those undertaking longer journeys. The surrounding environment, however, warrants a careful consideration, as some visitors have noted a less-than-ideal atmosphere in the immediate vicinity.

However, there are reports of room conditions needing improvement, with peeling paint and broken fixtures cited as potential issues. The pool and hot tub facilities, in particular, appear to be undergoing periods of inactivity, potentially impacting the guest experience for those seeking recreational amenities. It’s crucial to acknowledge that some guests have described the area around the hotel as “sketchy,” highlighting the importance of exercising caution and awareness during one's stay.

Definitely sketchy area, the hotel was dilapidated in the rooms had stuff peeling off the walls, some of the stuff in the bathroom was broken, but you get what you pay for. The pool is not heated anymore and the hot tub hasn't worked in 2 years, so don't go here if you want to go to a pool. I didn't think a place around here would be super sketchy but it is . The beds were comfortable.

Roaches bedbugs. People using drugs in open view. Also room had filth under bed under furniture. Under everything. I left a few hours after checking In. I did not feel safe. For the price I paid I should have at least been able to have a clean room and to sleep under the blankets. No. I don't even think the room was properly clean. What a shame. I had to rent at America's best Inn and it was way better!......TO OWNER REPLY.....I WILL TAKE A FREE ROOM BUT MUST BE CLEAN though....will change review if my perception is changed...

I was not expecting much. It did have sketchy people hanging around outside but they didn't bother anything and they were Nice and friendly. My room was amazingly spotless. New flooring. Crisp new white sheets. Quiet.
I didn't come for the pool. But I'm glad everyone likes the breakfast.
Quick stop. Was cheap. Fine.
Not a family place. Fine for single quick stop.

The staff is friendly and the rooms are really nice. The pool is just really cold at the time of my stay. Other than that it was great.

They tried to charge me $105 for this room that was visibly dirty, smelled like pee and had cockroaches in it. The floor was soft from water damage. There were pimps n drug dealers doing business in the parking lot. 10/of 10 do not recommend. They're lucky that this review won't let me post pics because they speak for themselves.

Front desk was quite kind, but if you are looking for a standard, clean hotel and room free of odors this is not the place. We saw a mouse and there were people yelling and swearing at night. Our son wouldn’t swim in the pool as it was run down and not very clean. Hot tub not working. Breakfast was slim pickings.
