This has been an absolute must stop for us for close to 40 years. We've traveled a bit over those years, and we've never come across a kinder, more sincere, and hardworking couple than at Jack Rabbit. It's always been a pleasure to stop off with friends and family, and we've made so many memories here. We have seen good days at the JRTP and them also go through some not so good ones. As small mom and pop, family run for generations, store it can be difficult to compete with chains stores and national truck stops, but those places don't have the stories and history this place does. We don't just take pictures with the rabbit, but go in, and visit with Tony and Cindy, (they have quite a story to tell) and pick up a souvenir or two, or even a snack. We suggest you do the same. If you're going to stop and take pictures, also help support their efforts to keep this Old Route 66 icon alive by purchasing an item or several. Ask about a mini mileage sign. Everyone needs one of those. Their selection of items may surprise you. It's definitely worth the stop. Also, you can visit their website and order items. I wish I'd thought to take lots of pictures this last stop in, and I can't believe I haven't done a Google review before. Tony and Cindy have become our friends and have just become family to us over the years. This is a great place, help keep it alive.

Gimmicky? Yes. Still fun? Also yes. I heard about this store before we embarked on our road trip and I was glad to poke my head in and see it for myself. They have their own Jack Rabbit Trading Post merchandise for people who want that kitschy t-shirt and what not, as well as a wide variety of misc things like Route 66 souvenirs, some Native American wares, different fun foods and drinks, and all kinds of bric-a-brac. I was excited to pick up a Grand Canyon shot glass that I forgot to get for a coworker when I was at the Grand Canyon earlier, so this store saved me! They also have a little room in the back that feels like a time capsule room to resemble that old Route 66-esque vibe which was fun to poke around in. And The clerk was very nice. Definitely stop by, even if it’s just to stretch during a road trip.

An amazing stop on route 66! So much history in one small spot! I follow their page on FB and tried to complete their fun scavenger hunt on my trip but didn't. It didn't matter cuz I showed my receipts from other route 66 shops and Cindy let me spin their prize wheel anyways! I won a nice mug! I also bought one of their famous milage signs! The whole time I was there, Cindy made me feel welcome! This place is a MUST stop! Follow them on FB, it's always a good time!!

Our friend and I made a stop here (twice actually!) on our Route 66 trip and it was amazing visit. The shop is really well maintained and the folks that operate were one of the nicest people we met on our journey. Cindy, thank you for making our trip so memorable! I highly recommend you make a stop here if you're in the area.

So clutch in the middle of nowhere!!! I was attempting rockhounding but could not find petrified wood anywhere. Stopped here and they had incredible giant pieces. They were so helpful and nice. Just a pleasure to be around. This will be a pit stop every time I go to Winslow now!!!

The backstory is pretty neat too. I won’t ruin it for you!
