I don’t even know where to begin, but Derrick went ABOVE and BEYOND for my wedding in April. From the day I contacted him, when he opened his studio for me at 8 PM when it was closed so he could meet with me and sat with me for about three hours to discuss my vision, to the wedding day, Derrick was amazing. He took my ideas stuck in my brain and brought them to life. On top of that, he is one of the best people I know and I felt like I had the pleasure with working with a dear friend leading up to my wedding. Everything was so gorgeous and amazing and he made sure everything was perfect. I don’t know if I could count on two hands the amount of people that told me “this was the most beautiful wedding they’ve ever attended”. Above all, he is so honest and creative, I am so lucky to have worked with Derrick. I will for sure work with Taylor & Co for other events in the future.

This review is LONG overdue, and I apologize for that! We were married in June of 2018 and used Derrick for our flowers and decor. To this day, I still receive thoughtful compliments from those that attended that my wedding was the most amazing wedding they have ever been to, and in no small part was that due to Derrick's unbelievable decorating. The flowers were luxurious, full, brilliant and romantic which is exactly what I was going for. The lanterns, back drop and other items that he used to decorate were stunning. At one point during our meetings, I was trying to save some money so I wanted to cut out the back drop, but because Derrick wanted our day to be special, he said don't worry about it and threw it in (who does that)! To top it all off, Derrick had a photo-shoot the day before my wedding and ended up with a ton of extra flowers that matched my decor and gave us all of the extra that he had. When you walked into my reception hall, it was like walking into a magical wonderland. I can't say thank you enough - you made the best day of my life even better. Thank you, Derrick!

I can not gush about working with Derrick Taylor and his company enough. I've attended several events that Derrick has designed over the years and this year I had the pleasure of working with him on an event this past fall. As a professional photographer I look for attention to detail, style of course, and especially with weddings and other special events, the ability to create something that is not only on trend and beautiful but that is also timeless so that your decor won't look dated when you look at your photos in the decades to come.
Aside from being meticulous with style, he also has an incredible team of people who help every minute of your day go flawlessly so all you have to do is show up and enjoy it. Derrick himself also happens to be a lovely person who is fun to work with too! He will take your vision and run with it and I've seen people gasp time and time again when they walk into a room he's designed.
If you need someone to design your day, Derrick is one of the best in the business, and I promise you won't be happier with any decision you make on your wedding day.

I am a wedding coordinator with Clementine Custom Events and have worked with Taylor + Co Events many times, however I was also able to experience working with the as a bride as I booked them for my OWN wedding. There are so many decor teams in the Chicago industry but it was no question for me on who I wanted to work with for my big day. Derrick made MAGIC! He is a true artist. I was blown away! While many companies have creative ideas, and can bring a space to life, Derrick possesses a special quality and that is he is GENUINE. You can truly feel his love for his work and the bride herself! He takes each "job" so personal. His work does not come from a place of obligation but for his love + passion. He is authentic and goes above and beyond on the day-of. He stood behind me as I got ready to walk down the aisle and fluffed my veil. What a special moment to share with your decor designer! I would hire him over and over again and would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who is looking for breathtaking decor for you wedding or event

I can't say enough about how amazing Derrick and his staff are when it comes to planning a wedding. We originally went to Derrick to help us out before COVID and were finally able to have your wedding April 2021. We specially wanted something that was masculine yet elegant and Taylor and Co came through in the most amazing way. They listened to our ideas, what few we had, and made their suggestions to make the day as special for us as possible. Every detail was executed to perfection and none were overlooked.

Almost a month after the wedding our guests are still raving about how amazing it was and how beautiful the decor turned out.

We would highly recommend Taylor and Co for event you have to plan specially your wedding.

Derrick is my GO-TO for all event help! Floral, planning, design, concept- he does it all. He even whipped up frosting in the kitchen for a cutting cake that arrived without finishing. That cake was one of the photos included in the wedding magazine feature. He is one of my favorite people, he truly cares about everyone he knows, and is worth every penny!!!
