No frills park, but Eugene made it a five star experience ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ We we’re stuck on I-40 for three hours due to accident just before the exit. Even though we arrived well after hours, Eugene waited for us and set us up for the night. He has such a calming and gentle manner - all the stress from our drive just melted away the moment I walked in to the office. The park has no frills - no bathhouse, no WiFi, etc. - but each site has full hook ups and the rate is $30 for a night. Eugene actually only charged us $25 for the night because we arrived late…wow…he’s the type of person who restores your faith in humanity ? Extreme gratitude to you, Eugene!!!

This park is owned by a super nice old hippie. Perfect place to pull off the interstate for the night. This park is nothing special but super affordable at $30/night, had full hookups, and easy pull through sites in the middle. There was some train and interstate noise, but that is to be expected based on the location.

The sites were level and had full hook up. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly. It was convenient and easy to get to right off i40. No scenery but a decent over night for $30. Most campers were locals working in the area. I was there in December and needed to overnight before heading into Flagstaff.

"The best thing about Joseph City is the people!"

We stayed at Norma's in Joseph City, AZ for the month of February 2021. We chose this park because it's in the perfect location to access so many great sites in the state for day trips (Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest NP, Meteor Crater, the 3 National Monuments in Flagstaff etc.) and the price was amazing compared to other parks in north Arizona.

If you're looking for a park with fancy amenities or things to do in the town this is NOT your place, but Eugene the owner is a great guy, it felt very safe, they had AMAZING water pressure along with Full hook ups, and we enjoyed the peaceful country feel this town and RV park has. (You can hear roosters, there's a horse across the street and plenty of tumbleweed blowing around.)

You can hear trains in the distance fairly often, but by the end of our stay the sounds lulled us to sleep and we grew quite accustomed to them. haha

We were able to use General Delivery at the next door post office and groceries were a 20-30min drive away.

-Esther's Diner down the road has FANTASTIC food! She also owns the laundromat next door to the diner and can give you change for laundry if needed.
-The Loves gas station sells propane if needed.
-There's a small grassy park next to Norma's if you have pets or kids that want to run around.
-Lots of history in this small town and near Route 66. (Oldest Mormon settlement in AZ and some cool trading posts to check out)

THINGS TO SEE:
Flagstaff (1.15hr away)
Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater Volcano, Wupatki National Monuments (1- 1.5hrs away)
Grand Canyon National Park (2.5hrs away)
Sedona (2hrs away)
Meteor Crater (45min away)
Petrified Forest National Park (32 min. away)
Standin' on the Corner (in Winslow,AZ) (25min away)

We were very happy with our stay at Norma's and recommend it for anyone looking for a simple, safe, inexpensive stay in the area with good people.

Have had A space here for almost two years. And we couldnt be happier. It's a small quiet park, Very peaceful here. Park is setup to cater to your smaller trailers. Not that the park doesnt or wouldnt want to cater to the larger travel trailers/fifth wheels/toy haulers on purpose. I think that trailers these days have really just outgrown this park! So if your trailers gonna require A 50 amp hookup? This park is not the place for you and your rig! The owners are very sweet people but this isnt like alot of other trailer parks that has A small store to get essentials like dark water tank treatments toilet paper etc etc. They dont have anything like that here. So if your gonna need anything like that? I recommend stopping at the Loves truck stop just down the street. Oh and if your gonna require A space just for the night or something try to get there before dark, cause the owner doesnt like for people to be pulling in and setting up after dark! I think its maybe cause the size of the park and how its setup so that nothing accidentally gets run over! And to be respectful to the other residents.

Affordable and the Owner is very nice. He got us a quiet spot to sleep for the night. I especially liked the pull thru spot, cement pad outside our door and trees give privacy. Older place, not fancy. Spots are quiet, large, and feel comfortable and safe . Will be back, it was a pleasant surprise.♡

Basic, no frills campground. Lots were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Perfect for an overnight stay. Rate was reasonable for what it is.

What a welcome surprise on our way from Colorado to Phoenix! We called last minute and were warmly greeted on the phone. We arrived after dark and it was not a problem at all. $20 cash for friendly service and a spot that worked well for us. Would definitely stay here again in the future on our way through.
