The drive and wait were very long, but the people were fantastic. Service was great. Sadly, felt like the food was okay but not really worth the 2 hr wait. The brat bites appetizer with mustard cheese was the best, could not stop eating it.

Alte Dreamland Palace is a place I haven't visited in a decade. It's changed a little. It's 55 miles round trip.

The schnitzel was excellent. The extensive collection of memorabilia was still there.

There were only two people working the restaurant. Both were polite friendly, and working their tails off.

There was a birthday party of fourteen before me. All were served, with refills, and appetizer. Their orders were cooked first. And served first. First come...

I got my meal one hour and forty minutes after I ordered it. As I said, the schnitzel was excellent. It took me about twelve minutes to finish it.

The other comments were correct. This old building needs fumigation. The flies were persistent. I'm from an earlier age, where we tolerated such things as normal for a unique dining experience. Younger people would have left immediately.

This is not the staff's fault. Management is not doing a proper job. Staffing and health need addressing.

My total was $21.97 with tax. I paid $30, cash. I hope that was enough. The poor guy was taking the bullet for his bosses.

Let me start by saying they are only open on Friday thru Sunday and as I further describe I can understand why. They open at 3pm and our reservation on Saturday was at 4pm. When we arrived it took several minutes for someone to greet us. Finally when greeted the owner as it turns out said you're a bit early, the cook's not hear yet. That was a clue as to what we were in store of. To make this already long review shorter we were there for 3 hours, from walk in the door to out. Four of us and we were the only patrons there the entire evening. Food was served one person at a time not together so it took 10 to 15 minutes before everyone in the group was served. To add insult to injury, the owner in an effort to be cordial came out and actually started talking politics - - bad taste plus he wouldn't go away. Sad as the food was quite good. This used to be a popular place for authentic German food. The owner said he was retiring and his son was to take over "probably will turn it into a sports bar" was his comment. There's a lot more I could say but I've run out of room.

The last German restaurant around with authentic food. Recommend bringing cash. The food was excellent! All of the sausages/wursts were nelt in your mouth good. We didn't get pictures of everything as we were so hungry we just dove in after a nearly 90 minute wait. This place is severely understaffed as of 11.2024. They are working hard to make it work to keep the last German restaurant in the area open. Unfortunately we had a long wait time due to there only being 1 staff member who was the wait staff and cook. Everything is made to order so we did expect that wait, just not for the cook to also get our drinks and silverware. The decor is in some serious need of updates, but please consider patronage to keep more variety of international cuisine.

First time here, stumbled across it after hike at Salt Lick trail. Come hungry, the portions are quite large! Got the pretzels for appetizer, amazing! We got Dreamland Palace platter (bockwurst was fantastic!) and the Black forest schnitzel (chicken with ham and swiss). Everything was to die for! So good. We had a ton of leftovers we boxed up to take home. We shall be back. Owner came to table and chatted with us.

I've been looking for a good German restaurant and boy was this it. The staff although clearly working hard, were very friendly and courteous. The food was delicious. I hope to return here again with friends and family. May God bless their hard work.

Used to live across the street from this place and ate here frequently. Food was phenomenal and ran by the nicest people I've met. Highly recommend stopping in, get the brat bits.

2 other tables in restaurant besides the 3 of us. It took over 2 hours for food to arrive at the table after placing the order. The server kept telling us that the food should be out shortly.
He also said it was worth the wait. I was ready to get up and go, but the other 2 of my freinds wanted to wait. Big mistake. The food was terrible. Not only was it overcooked, it sure didn't taste like veal either. It was greasy, and tasted like it was prepared in a dirty pan. Everything was brought out in a piecemeal order.
I will never eat at this place again. The owner was doing every thing but expediting the food to any of the tables. This had to be one of the worst experiences of my life at a restaurant. Not only horrendous service, but terrible food as well. I would not recommend going to this place at all.
