Totally blew me away.

I moved back to the area almost three years ago, but had not come to WPW. Then recently, I found out that my 50th class reunion was going to be held there. Hearing that news, I knew it was time to come and check it out.

When I arrived mid-afternoon on a Sunday, I was shocked how large the venue was and how full the parking lot was. I quickly realized, Wild Pickens Winery is a hot spot and the place to be seen on weekends.

They have a fairly extensive wine menu, it was larger then what I was expecting. I enjoyed two glasses of Cabernet and was impressed with its robust flavor. When my server told me, all glasses of wine were $7, my frugal personality smiled.

To my surprise they had an extensive menu. I was expecting a very simple menu of only a few items, but they had it all. Their menu had entrees, burgers and wood fired pizzas. I had eaten brunch earlier so I wasn't that hungry, but wanted to try something. I ordered the Stuffed Mushrooms and they hit the spot. They were stuffed with spinach, cream cheese and parmesan. The order came with three good sized mushrooms, so it would be perfect for one or sharing.

They had a band playing in the main room inside and the music was super loud. Friends that I ran into there, told me in good weather the band is outside and makes for a more enjoyable listening experience. The loud music is why they only got a 4 Star rating.

The service was small town, down home country friendly. WPW is only open Thursday thru Sunday and I'll definitely be back. I gotta come back and try one of their wood fired pizzas.

The atmosphere, outside seating and building with bar are extremely nice. If you like dry red, like I do, get a beer. If you or your significant other likes sweet wine, go for it.

My boyfriend and I were out riding today and and decided to stop at Wild Pickins Winery. I must say we were very pleased. The atmosphere was excellent and the young lady that waited on us was super friendly. The owner, Todd, was so pleasant. We ordered a supreme pizza and some wine and it was great! We ended up buying 2 bottles of wine to bring home with us. I can't say enough good about this place and the people there. We will definitely return! Thank you Wild Pickens!

Really nice place! Great wine and pizza! Had a bottle of the Legacy Norton and a half Margarita, half Buffalo chicken pizza - all were top notch. Great atmosphere. Chatted with the friendly owner. We’ll be back - Recomend!

We normally love wild pickins, food has always been awesome but we were disappointed today. They are having a band and only serving a limited menu (which was not stated on the website) of pulled pork sandwiches, chicken kebobs, a salad of some kind and ham slider things. We had people meeting us who have never been here. We ended up leaving and going to Carlinville for pizza. I get having a limited menu of sort due to the amount of people coming to listen to band but at least have pizza on the menu.

The most peaceful place to enjoy a cold or hot drink, amazing food and great company! You must try the Thunder and Lightening wine and get something off of Chef Gabe's menu! Always meet new friends when I visit Wild Pickins!

In the middle of the countryside, this place was great! They had a live band, great food and great staff! Lexi was great! We will definitely be back
