Don’t always think the biggest guys like Camping world will give you the best deal! Bought a used travel trailer in early March from 83rv and I think I got a great deal! I haven’t gone camping yet we are going for a test “run” in few weeks and hopefully no issues! These guys were great! Dawn in the back went over everything with us and I feel comfortable going camping for the very first time after he went over everything for us! The trailer I bought was used but VERY well maintained (even has EVERY single manual) from the refrigerator to the awning to the radio and microwave! Hopefully the day we go out we won’t run into any unexpected problems that’s why I picked a place close by to do the very first run with it! I usually never write reviews unless they are bad ones but right now I’m giving these guys 5 stars! Buy from these guys they are a small locally owned business THAT WON’T SURPRISE YOU WITH THOUSANDS IN ADD ON FEES LIKE CAMPING WORLD!

We purchased a small Sun Lite toy hauler from Bob. We drove 8 hours to pick it up. Everything was ready at the time promised. Bob went the extra mile to get us taken care of. After the paperwork was done, we were escorted to the service area where our unit was waiting and handed off to the RV tech Don. Don thoroughly went over absolutely everything about the unit with us and even shared tips learned from personal experience. He shared all the Do's and Dont's to make sure we had no problems in the future. We had a great experience!

Went for service in May 2024, with our travel trailer for service with an appointment made months earlier. After about 3 days beyond the appointment day, I called about the trailers status for greasing the bearings/check and adjust brakes. Guess what? They said they were swamped with RV rentals and “didn’t get to it”. My question is why wasn’t I told this at drop off, or called ahead of time? (I was leaving days later to go on a trip to Door County) The Service person tells me then, well sorry service has taken the back burner since they have become a rental agency, so those units take priority! I asked how much time they needed, he answered about a one to two weeks! So what was the point of an appointment?
I ended up paying a little more but got great service at Camping World, nearby. So much for dealing with a small business locally. I will not return. It was a frustrating experience, where they took an appointment but never did deliver- not even days late.

We have been getting our propane refilled here for years without a problem. Last week we sent our employee in to get a new tank for our Fork Lift. We gave them our old propane tank because the valve had broken, and as it was leaking.
It was my employee's understanding that 83RV was going to give us a new tank and fill it for $200. We received a tank that was older than the one we turned in. They gave us an old rusty 1995 tank.
They did fill it and charged us a higher amount of $243. I believe this was a bait and switch they did with my employee. We could have bought a new one at the local big box store and filled it for less. I feel we were wronged in this transaction and they gave us something else than what they said. They took advantage of my employee not knowing what they were going to do.
We have had a business in Mundelein for 30 years and this is not the way to serve the community.

My husband and I were excited to rent our first RV for a 12 day long trip. After all was said and done, there were more and more fees added up and after the trip, and we paid nearly $5,000 for an RV that lacked in cleanliness, there were several things that were loose and in poor repair, including one of the windows that was so rattly we could hardly hear anything while we were driving. The air conditioning unit never really cooled the RV down, unless the RV was in motion. The door screen was held together with some sort of heavy duty tape. For the amount of money we paid, we were hoping for a much better experience, especially since the RV we chose was advertised as new, and the RV we were given was definitely not new. It was nearly 3 years old, and had a loose kitchen faucet, cushions that kept sliding off of the dining seats, no cupholders, among other issues. When we asked the owner, if he would help compensate after the trip for some of these things, he said he would give us some sort of benefit the next time that we rented. That’s not the right answer… I believe he should’ve stood by his product and service and made things right with us.

We rented the Class A Coachman Pursuit for a 30 day National Parks tour. Fantastic experience: they are true to their word and treat you like family. The first unit was not driving smoothly when we left the lot and they were able to change RV’s quickly and with no problem (obviously this could not be done by a private rental). Very responsive on the road to questions. They made us feel like they really did want us to have a great vacation, which we did. The RV was perfect for us and made for an incredible experience. Seeing our amazing country through that huge picture window windshield is incredible.

I would have to say Bob did a wonderful job selling us the RV, he had the unit warmed up when we arrived, explained everything in detail. Felt we made a good deal for all parties. That was the best part of dealing with 83 RV in my opinion. When we arrived to pickup the RV the service department went though the RV with us, they told us they spent 7 hours getting the unit ready. Unfortunately they did a horrible job getting the unit ready in my opinion. I will not go into detail. All I can say is I would recommend having an independent inspection done before you purchase an RV. We purchased a new unit and have lots of items that need to be addressed. Yes, I understand there will be items that need to be addressed, the items they missed, and did not tell us about are unacceptable in my opinion. We also made the mistake of purchasing items from their RV store. Buyer beware!!

Had 83 rv service my 1999 bigfoot 10.6 slide in truck camper. They did a fantastic job cleaning the camper. It was very dirty and I tired to clean it up but it was a bigger job than I wanted to tackle. Extremely happy with my service not only did they do a awesome job with cleaning it I had some other work done as well and overall my experience was very good. Definitely my go to RV guys
