I have been an IHG member for a decade, and I have never been so disappointed in one of their hotels. I was never greeted, and the front desk man looked at me as if I had 2 heads when I came up to him at 3PM to check in. He also did not explain anything about the hotel (where the gym or pool was or their hours, what floor my room was on, how to get to the elevator, etc.) My NON-smoking room had a musty, cigarette scent to it. The room was outdated, and the pillows were too soft. I was given an adjoined room with horrendous neighbors: they left the TV blaring 24/7, even when they were not in the room, were screaming and slamming doors between the hours of 3-5AM, and there were people running up and down the halls and yelling because the guests at this hotel don't know how to parent their children. My stay was from Friday until Tuesday, but the key stopped working Sunday around noon. The new front desk man said the key was set to expire Sunday at noon, so he gave me a new key. This makes me think that the first inattentive front desk man did not even check my reservation and just assumed I was only there for the weekend. One of the three elevators did not work without warning: it would not go to lower floors because the buttons were not working, so I was unable to use it from my floor to go to the lobby. I had to utilize the stairs on too many occasions.
Upon check-out, I was bringing my belongings to my car at 11:30AM and went back for the rest, but my key did not work AGAIN, even though check-out was at NOON. So, the front desk gave me a temporary key that would expire after 10 minutes to give me just enough time to bring the rest of my luggage to my car. For the positives, the room was habitable, I had no issue connecting my gaming system to the TV, and the maids were phenomenal. However, I will not be returning to this location, and I do not recommend it to anyone.

As someone who travels extensively, I have the opportunity to stay at many hotels, of various price points, and qualities.

I have been staying at this hotel almost exclusively when my travels find me in the Chicago area, Over the past few years there have been many noticeable upgrades. Admittedly the early days were a bit rough, with outdated accommodations and frequent staff changes.

Apparently the ownership group noticed the sub standard service they were offering and made changes. They brought in Ali, a very dedicated and efficient General Manager to turn things around. He has built a consistent staff that is committed to ensuring that their guests are treated above and beyond. The front desk staff was transformed into a cohesive, client friendly team headed by Zayan, Mohammed, and a few others. They take the time to engage with you and treat each guest as a valued guest, not just a "reservation." This can be said of the entire staff, whether client facing, or working behind the scenes.

There have been numerous to the rooms and common areas renovations. It has truly become a home away from home.

Beds were extremely comfortable! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean, no weird smells or stains - the only thing that turned me off was that the tub did not have a stopper so we couldn’t take a bath. Pool was colder than expected, but clean, and the kids loved it. Loved that pets are allowed!

Good location and hotel. The staff make it amazing! Upon check-in, Malka was patient and worked diligently to assure I had the quietest room possible. I'm a Seminar Speaker who was teaching in the hotel. My projector bulb blew on Day 1. Ali and his team (Nizam & Sanjay) allowed me to borrow the hotel projector until I could purchase one that afternoon, in addition to making sure my room set-up was perfect. Quite often in my leadership classes I say "A team is a direct reflection of their leader." This hotel is a perfect example of excellent leadership. Thanks.

Positive: It had a restaurant and bar. The hotel was quiet and in a safe area Negative: The housekeeping staff did not clean the room or take out the trash. The hotel staff offered free breakfast due to my room not being clean and not getting new towels, however the breakfast was horrible.I had to ask for clean towels every day.

I stayed here with my team for a week. Everyone was complaining how gross the rooms were. Toilets, overflowing, being able to hear conversations through the wall, no privacy. This is a horrible location and should be invested into an update for the city. It should have a higher standard. Oakbrook is a great city. If you put some more money into this location, you could attract some better clients. Bar Louie is a good concept to have inside. However, the servers were rude on many occasions as well and the plates seem dirty. I know it is not affiliated, but there should be higher standards from this hotel, especially in Oak Brook. Very disappointing.

I stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago, and would never have given it a second chance unless a colleague did not mention that the hotel was refreshed. A coat of paint, and replacing a couple fixtures is not a refresh. The room was not clean And the bathroom looks like they handed a two year-old a caulk, gun and allowed them to go to town, the sink was held up by a 2 x 4 and they were remnants of scotch tape around the fixtures of the room, which I figured was evidence of a recent party thrown there. You would expect that to be cleaned up prior to the next guest. I do not recommend this hotel. And if the operator of this site wants to stay relevant in this neighborhood, there is some work to do.

The beds were the most comfortable that I have slept in. The amenities I. Room were perfect. The location is close and convent to businesses and a shopping mall. The parking lot was easily accessible with good lighting.
Emoted my stay
