Spent the night at Hotel Goodwin, after having stayed several times at the Ironworks. Loved the Ironworks so was interested in checking out the Goodwin. As someone who has spent decades staying in hotels on 5 continents, I have to say that the Goodwin is PERFECT. Exceptionally constructed with quality materials, tastefully decorated (!!), welcoming staff, and the best room service meal in North America. If you're looking for a hotel near Beloit with a quiet, luxury vibe, try the Goodwin. And it’s dog friendly!! PERFECT.

Worst experience ever at the INDY IRONWORKS HOTEL! I would stay clear especially if you are a person of color! We were treated so badly and rudely by staff. They made a mistake with our reservation and tried to play it like ā€œOh, we are upgrading youā€. But we didn’t request an upgrade. They made us move out of our current room that we stayed in last night to a different room because they were ā€œsold outā€ of our orginal room. Issue was we booked it for 2 nights. They didn’t care, they didn’t apologize, they didn’t send someone to help move our stuff to the other room (they actually asked why we needed a key for the other room instead when we asked for one to move the things).

Also even though we were standing at the counter waiting on the manager Anne refused to call her. She said she was busy and we would just have to wait for her return. She then continued to just ignore us. Upon the managers return she asked a causian member of our party that wasn’t standing even near the desk if she could help her. When she was referred back to us she stopped smiling and became stern. She had been smiling and so kind with all Caucasian customers we had seen her take on a tour but we weren’t even greeted or smiled at by the manager through this entire ordeal. Without talking to us, The manager and employee whispered about our situation, and the employee explained it wrong. Even upon clarification and showing our reservation for 2 nights for the room we were already in they still made us move out into another room because they said they were sold out of that room type. We asked if they were sold out of our current room then why they won’t tell new people checking in they had been ā€œupgradedā€ like they were telling us and have them take the other room. They refused. Even when we kept saying it makes no sense. After we left the desk to move our own things. A member of our party that they didn’t know was with us stayed in the lobby they said they talked about us while other customers where there.

Other customers came up after the incident and talked about how we handled it so well and they won’t be booking here any more as well! This needs fixed! A refund and an apology is much needed. Still can’t believe this happen.
