Lori and George were fantastic hosts at their very fantastic Bed and Breakfast. The rooms were beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. George gave us a helpful tour when we arrived. Lori shared a lot of history of the town and home as well as the all important connections (and behind the scenes stories) to the movie Groundhog Day! We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!

We wanted a non-city break after travelling from San Francisco by Amtrak, and were delighted with our two night stay at The Cherry Tree Inn at Woodstock. It’s an easy train ride from Chicago, and the town is pretty, friendly, and accessible. Cherry Tree Inn itself is gorgeous - a true B&B (with breakfasts to dream of), exceptionally hospitable hosts in Lori and George, and one in which we were made feel very comfortable to use the common areas. Our room was beautiful - spotlessly clean - and such a comfortable bed. While we were there in the depths of winter (we are Australian!), the home was cosy and warm, and with our winter woollies on we were able to enjoy several walks around the town, knowing we had a welcoming refuge on our return. The Groundhog Day connections in the town are just spectacular, and so much fun!

As a fan of the movie I just knew I had to stay here during my trip up to Green Bay for the Packers game so booked the Magnolia Suite with the famous view out of the window! On arrival I was blown away by the beautiful Christmas decorations and the house has wonderful character and ambience. I was met by the friendly owners who made me feel like one of the family and gave me a tour of the house and a useful map of places to visit in nearby Woodstock which is only 10mins away. The breakfast in the morning was amazing all home cooked and served in the dining room and it was lovely to sit and to chat with the owners and other guests altogether. Woodstock itself is a beautiful little town to explore, all the famous movie locations are clearly identified with plaques and there are some interesting places to eat and drink. I was very excited about my stay at Cherry Tree Inn and it exceeded all expectations, even if you don't care about the movie it is a wonderful place to stay. Thank you for a very memorable experience.

This is THE BEST B&B. Woodstock is such a charming town and this place is the cherry on top! Comfortable and cozy - Payton was so welcoming and had many suggestions on where to eat and what to do. Unfortunately, we were there for a quick trip (funeral) so we didn't plan on a ton of R&R, but this place did it for us. We watched Groundhog Day while snuggling up in the warm, cozy room, and took a quick walk around the square. We definitely plan to come back and stay here, and to enjoy the breakfast next time which we didn't get to take advantage of this time. Thank you, Cherry Tree (Payton and crew) for doing what you do! Amazing place.

Such a beautiful home in an awesome little town. The owners were super hospitable! They had great stories of the Groundhog Day celebrations in town and the history of the home.

This stay was a total accident, I was looking for a good place for an overnight experience in lake geneva, as opposed to just a spot to sleep, while all other local hotels were booked, I came across the Cherry Tree Inn.

First off, it was once used in a great movie, (Groundhog day)which has a great story, I could have stayed at a smaller motel, but for the quality and the the price, it was completely worth it. Also cheaper than expected.

Sure I had to drive 19 miles, but it was definitely a great choice. We came later in the evening and we're still greeted with open arms. Rooms were comfy, and had everything needed.

Enjoying our evening watching movies in the front room, and snacks, a very comfortable sleep 😴. Woke up excited for our experience. It was like being in Grandma's house, hanging with my favorite aunt.

The owners were awesome, very informative and cool as a cucumber in a bowl of hot sauce.
We had a superstar breakfast, got to enjoy the story of the house, the gardens, we took many pictures. Smiled a lot.

We would definitely stay again, possibly in the winter, to get the whole ground hog day movie experience.

We came here for a bucket list of mine and an anniversary weekend. The staff, owners and other guests were all very nice. The house was extremely clean, the room was impeccable, the shower was awesome, the view was exactly like the movie! Such an adorable place to visit. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to everyone! The owners were so accommodating and wonderful hosts!

Fantastic. Every aspect , charm the friendliest owners. Bend over backwards to make. Your stay perfect. Multiple movies have been shot there including Groundhog day and Reporting for Christmas. With more to come. Highly recommend stay.
