I typically do not leave reviews, but this place is so wonderful and underrated, really had a difficult time finding any pics online, so I'm leaving a review for others.

Beautiful little cabin on 46 acres, a small pond, even smaller pond next door, several trails and some pines that look like a they were part of a pine farm since they're so impressively symmetrical.

The cabin is just beautiful. The decor consists of a lot of handmade iron; I'm assuming the owners are either blacksmiths themselves or have someone close to them that really enjoy blacksmithing.

There are some kayaks, the pond water is incredibly clear.

We've stayed at lots of cabins in the Midwest and usually they have one thing in common.... neighbors. This one however is different, it's the only rental on the property, which is so nice; just quiet and peaceful. Plus all the linens, kitchen utensils, etc are provided; you just need to bring food.

Because it snowed, we were pretty much locked down with nowhere to go but our stay was still fantastic. We stayed warm, cooked several meals in the cozy kitchen, and played games next to the gas fireplace. We’ll definitely come back on the Spring for some fishing and hiking!

Make sure you cancel as soon as possible if needed. We had an unexpected death in the immediate family, and canceled about 4 days before rental.we were charged $ 345 dollars.the complete rental fee.the lady we spoke to about this,was very short with me after I said canceling, and we would be charged in full. Please cancel asap if needed.

I brought my wife here for her birthday. She literally cried when we pulled up. We had the best two days that we have had in a long time. She absolutely loved it and it had us searching for a new house in the country. Will definitely be back!!

I've been here twice; once for a weekend in Oct 2016, and then a single night in Jan 2020. Both times were thoroughly enjoyable!
It's very quiet all around. My girlfriend in 2020 loves antique architecture and settings. Needless to say, she was absolutely thrilled with being there.
On my second visit, we brought our own paper plates and cutlery to avoid hand washing the dishes provided. It's a nice touch to find your name(s) on the welcome slate by the back door. Unlike hotels, you don't have actual contact with your host unless you ask for that.
The best value is during the week with reduced rates. Regardless, you too will love the experience!

We've been coming to this oasis for 7 years now and it only gets better! The serenity and peace is incredible! It's such a gift to wake up and have coffee on the big porch, sitting in the wood rockers, watching the fish jump, and hearing the rooster, birds, and bullfrogs singing their morning greetings! Breakfast at the Leo Cafe, fly fishing bluegill from the shore, taking the kayak out to catch large mouth bass and watch for little schools of freshwater jellyfish, grilling bratwursts for lunch, swimming in the beach to cool down, taking a nap with the windows open in the middle of the day, heading back out on the kayak to catch more bass, laying out to get a tan in the yard, having a campfire by the lake, reading a book in the breeze of the back porch, grilling steaks and eating at the porch picnic table looking out over the lake, falling asleep to bullfrogs and crickets (or to the white noise of the ac when it's too muggy out). Klare keeps everything so nice! It's a very country laid-back setting, weeds here and there, spiders leaving webs during the night across the porch, and sheep slowly strolling across the hill next to the lake. I really don't know what could be better than a getaway here!

This Quaint, Solitudinal get-away was perfect. I am a reclusive person by choice and this place had all the comforts of home. It was a Great place to spend a couple days with My Love and reminded me of so many Blessings and things to be Truly Thankful for this Thanksgiving. It was a place of comfort and joy and cleanliness. I will be sure again to return.....
