Location is a little hike from any fun activities, and the hotel itself is a bit run down but overall clean. The carpet was pretty stained up which grossed me out but I’m a bit of a clean freak. Service was decent. We booked it for their pool and hot tub but they covered the hot tub and is no longer in use… which the site does not state. That was the biggest disappointment for us parents.
We’ve stayed at multiple Express Inns and this one was unfortunately our least favorite. But we can’t complain too much. Our family still had fun and our breakfast was included is my fav perk of a hotel stay.

While this hotel was clean, the lack of hot water was mind blowing. Yes the hotel was fully booked but it obviously cannot accommodate all of it's (paying) guests. The water was routinely barely lukewarm to freezing cold for showers. So if you want hot water, don't book this hotel if alot of other people are there too. The door to our room was barely hanging on. It was so crooked in the door frame it let alot of light in from the hallway at night. Room was booked for 4 people (king bed/sofa bed)-first room given to us had one king bed and a chair. Got our room switched to the type we had booked, and we had no bedding for the sofa bed and towels for 2. There is no room service/cleaning during your stay so you get to go collect everything you need from an overworked desk clerk who might have time to help you. All in all, lots of other options in this area and I would try somewhere else.

Rooms were in good condition and the beds were very comfortable. The bedding smelled nice and fresh. Close to the interstate, which is very convenient. Only issue was the shower. Water wasn’t quite as hot as I would like, but it was still fairly warm. Good place to stay and good value for the money!

Stayed here 3/14/25. Hotel was clean and somewhat updated. Our room was nice and fairly spacious. Shower was coming loose and had rust on it. Breakfast was great with lots of items to choose from. Big issue for me was the fact that there was no hot tub even though the website still advertises it (along with showing pictures of a hot tub). To clarify there used to be a hot tub but that is now covered up with decking.

After we unpacked I noticed the flooring in the entrance of the room had salt footprints on it. They were dry and larger then any of our feet. Bathroom floor could use a good cleaning. I understand that business are having a hard time with employees. The light in the bathroom mirror doesn’t work, making it harder for my wife to put on her makeup.

We travel to Fort Wayne about once a year and this place is the best we have found. Most importantly, the room was clean! It was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was typical, the area was clean, and the items that should be hot were hot. Despite the posted notices about quiet hours we were awakened one night to the sounds of a loud party. We called the front desk and were happy when they notified the party to keep the noise down. We know not all hotels will do that and were pleased this hotel attempted to take care of their guests who were respectful of the quiet hours. All the employees were friendly and professional. We will not hesitate to return on our next visit to Fort Wayne.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Fort Wayne Express. Jake -- the guy at the front desk when we checked in -- acknowledged our Silver status and also helped us out with a blown bulb in the room.

The breakfast was awesome and delicious. The coffee at HIE's is always the best.

The room was HUGE. I paid for the upgrade, but didn't think it would be that BIG. Well worth the upgrade for a larger room.

Positive: It was nice not having freeway noise. Negative: Other guests were inconsiderate. It sounded like people were slamming doors for half the night and people were talking in the hall pretty late. It was spring break so there were also a lot of noisy kids.The bathroom floor could have been cleaner.
